First time visiting Billy’s in 25 years and I can honestly say that this is STILL a top-3 diner/deli. The burger was perfection; there’s just no way to say it. I don’t live in Oak Ridge anymore, but I wish they were open on weekends because I would find a way to come here once a month. But as is usually the case, it’s the SERVICE here that makes it worth my time and money. This is the type of place that deserves to be on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives on Food Network.

Great food! Steak in a sack and fried mushrooms with their homemade horseradish sauce are so good. Lunchtime is extremely busy, you will have to wait in line. (Well worth the wait!). So, you might want to go a little earlier or a little later. I went at 2pm the other day, and only one person ahead of me. Very friendly staff who are always willing to discuss menu and answer any questions.

Billy’s is one of those places that only the locals know about. Don’t let the tiny hole in the wall exterior fool you, it’s been an Oak Ridge institution for 50 years. The food is fantastic and the restaurant is always busy. Try the steak in a sack. I have never found anything like it anywhere else. The people there are super nice. The restaurant itself hasn’t changed a bit since we were kids, with pictures of old movie stars on the walls. You serve yourself drinks straight out of coolers on the wall. A local treasure.
