My complaint is about their bagged frozen chile. Not sure what the deal is but the quality has gone WAY down. I spend majority of my time picking out stems and skin pieces. It was also “mushy” and no flavor. You might get away with selling low grade chile in other states, but you can’t here in New Mexico. I’ll be paying more from now on for a higher quality chile. Shame.

Purchased their hot, frozen green chile at Smith’s because I ran out of frozen Hatch green chile. The Athentic New Mexican Green Chile lacked taste, was NOT spicy, and the stems were mixed in with the chile. I only used about 1/4 of the package, but I still had to remove several of them before I could prepare my food. Smith’s had a frozen Hatch brand last year or the year before which was excellent! I don’t know why they changed to this poor tasting one. I don’t recommend it.

The tamales are literally ALL masa. Yuck! Do not recommend at all. I grabbed them because they were out of my usual. Youre much better off buying the tamales that arent frozen, they are in the deli section.

The tamales are great but their frozen chopped green chile isn’t. Made a green chile turkey enchilada casserole tonight that was almost inedible because of the amount of chile peels. What a waste. Won’t be buying this again.

Typically, Walmart stores are pretty busy. So, I grabbed the ” Hot Green Chile ” and tossed it in my shopping cart. Once home I find it needs to be cooked first. So, I read the label and find I need to heat it to 165 degrees. Hmm… What if I just want to put some, not the entire container, on some eggs to try it out ? So, I call the company during business hours, only to find their mailbox is full and it hangs up on me. So, I call again another day. Same ordeal. At this point, I’ll take my receipt, drive all the way back to Walmart, stand in the always busy Customer Service line, and return it.

My last batch was not pleasing. The amount of STEMS and peelings chopped up was very disappointing. Hopefully the Red is better.
