This was the most unexpected surprise. Found this place via a Google search of good restaurants near our conference hotel and so glad we came across this one. One of the best meals I have had in a long time. We started with the artichoke hummus (best hummus I’ve ever had, so smooth) and the truffle bread. We were truly blown away by both dishes. I enjoyed the tasting menu which is really a steal of a deal. The high quality ingredients and flavor combinations are magnificent. The branzino was probably my favorite dish. I also thoroughly enjoyed the pistachio ice cream dessert. One of my colleagues ordered the chicken entree and she left nothing on her plate. I tried a bite and do understand why her plate was so clean. Our service was fantastic and the atmosphere was upscale but not stuffy. I would come back to Chicago just to eat here again.

We came here for our anniversary. Highly recommend taste menu for dinner. My husband and I loved Everything single item on it. Also recommend the those mocktails, very refreshing and tasty. One recommendation I would provide is that I do notice the food delivery slowed down a lot after 6:30pm, and only two chefs in the kitchen, so maybe hiring more people in the kitchen will help a lot.

Don’t sleep on this. 2nd tasting menu within a week and Apolonia was the better of the 2, @ a quarter of the price. The tasting menu is such an incredible value, it’s a MUST. The truffle puff bread was a warm and savory delight; it isn’t on the TM, but it’s warm bread, so you just have to. Every TM item was just the right amount of food and SO good, from the crudo to the branzino. Just left the restaurant and the notes of the pistachio ice-cream, with the sponge cake and candied pistachio is still dancing in my mouth. And, we had the best server!

Pricing was reasonable, but Apolonia charges a 5% employee health care & benefit to your bill. Other than that, the food (branzino, lamb, tomato pasta, bread), drinks, service and ambiance was top notch. I have nothing negative to say.

I have been to this place 3 times but after each time I was more disappointed. After my last visit a few weeks ago, i think I will stop recommending this place to friends.

Overall good. We got the a bit early for our reservation, and the place was pretty empty. The hosts asked us to wait 10+ minutes to be seated. We were confused as the place was empty when we arrived and was still empty by the time we left. If anything the service needs revising. The food was okay, but the brine in source that came with the Bronzino was too overpowering. Maybe the chef should consider tasting the food before sending it out to customers and maybe adjust the level of sourness.

What a gem tucked away in the south loop area. I would’ve never know this place to be here but I’m happy I found it! The ambiance of the place is so sleek and modern, incredibly minimal but warm.

I had the Grilled Branzino and it was one of the best meals I have ever had. It had a bit of a spicy punch, the olives provided a tart and savory note, and the crispy skin perfectly added the texture that made this dish so memorable. The restaurant was not crowded, so it was a good atmosphere to talk with my friends. This is a gem! You should definitely visit to keep this amazing Chef and restaurant right here on Michigan Ave.
