Anchor Steam Beer, California Common 4.9% ABV 33 IBU Anchor Brewing Company, San Francisco, CA
San Francisco’s famous Anchor Steam®, the classic of American brewing tradition since 1896, is virtually handmade, with an exceptional respect for the ancient art of brewing. The deep amber color, thick creamy head, and rich flavor all testify to our traditional brewing methods. Anchor Steam is unique, for our brewing process has evolved over many decades and is like no other in the world. Anchor Steam derives its unusual name from the 19th century when “steam” seems to have been a nickname for beer brewed on the West Coast of America under primitive conditions and without ice. The brewing methods of those days are a mystery and, although there are many theories, no one can say with certainty why the word “steam” came to be associated with beer. For many decades Anchor alone has used this quaint name for its unique beer. In modern times, “Steam” has become a trademark of Anchor Brewing

Sculpin IPA – American 7% ABV 70 IBU Ballast Point Brewing Company, San Diego, CA
The Sculpin IPA is a testament to our humble beginnings as Home Brew Mart. Founded in 1992, the Mart continues to be a catalyst for the San Diego brewing scene, setting the trend for handcrafted ales. Inspired by our customers, employees and brewers, the Sculpin IPA is bright with aromas of apricot, peach, mango and lemon. Its lighter body also brings out the crispness of the hops. This delicious Ballast Point Ale took a Bronze Medal at the 2007 Great American Beer Festival in the Pro Am category. The Sculpin fish has poisonous spikes on its fins that can give a strong sting. Ironically, the meat from a Sculpin is considered some of the most tasty. Something that has a sting but tastes great, sounds like a Ballast Point India Pale Ale

We’re full on board the hopwagon with this big American-style IPA. However, it is not designed to blow your head off with overpowering hop bitterness. Instead, Mosaic IPA is an extremely well-balanced brew that showcases its unique hop aroma and flavor. This beer gets its name from a new hop variety named “Mosaic,” which is predominantly where the immense, raw hop aroma and flavor is derived. Mosaic IPA has a noticeable malt backbone to help soften the high level of hop bitterness and flavor, while keeping the body fairly light. The word “Mosaic” is also representative of the diverse range of individuals that make up our community. It’s perfect in every way!

It’s a cool experience. I liked the ambience. It’s very neat. We went for a booze, and didn’t try any food there. The service was good but I felt a little unwelcome. (They could be tired/exhausted perhaps) we took our beers and sat in the patio area. As far as I have seen on the inside, it’s bustling with lots of customers and it’s definitely a good hangout place. We have been frequenting this place and would visit again.

Our server Macy was absolutely awesome!!!! She was the only server AND it was her birthday. She had at least 10 tables and was on point with everything. Her manager was very nice and was jumping in when needed to but wasn’t often. She is a sweetheart and very good at her job. The food was delicious and they had $5 Texas vodka drinks all day . I had ordered breaded mushrooms and the manager came out and told me they just got the shipment in and when he opened them he didn’t feel they were good enough to serve. I love that he was honest and didn’t want to serve something just to make a buck. We will definitely be back.

Found Kelly’s Craft Tavern when we were in town for business. It was our best find in Texas. If your in the area and you like smoked brisket YOU NEED TO STOP AND EAT HERE!! Kelly’s was good enough that when we had to go back to the area a week later we made sure to eat there. Hubby got the smoked brisket fajitas which came out sizzling and had a great flavor along with a melt in your mouth texture. It was to die for. He ordered it both times we were there. I ordered 3 sliders as I was looking to satisfy a few cravings. It was great. For my second stop it chose the brisket tacos, just the right amount of smokeyness. My tacos side was chips n queso which were amazing. They were kind enough to help us pack our leftovers for the hotel we were in. Made sure we had utensils to eat with and everything. We each got 3 meals out of our dinners so you get great portions (though teenagers might eat everything in 1 sitting) simply amazing food and highly recommend Kelly’s!

Kelly’s Craft Tavern it has a cozy ambiance to the impeccable service, every aspect of my experience at this establishment left a lasting impression. However, it was the remarkable The Flat Iron Steak, that truly stole the show. The moment I took my first bite of the Flat Iron Steak, I knew I was in for something extraordinary. The steak was perfectly cooked to my liking, with a gorgeous medium-rare center that oozed with juiciness. The tenderness of the meat was unparalleled, as each bite practically melted in my mouth. The chef’s skill in preparing this dish was evident, as the steak had a beautiful sear on the outside, imparting a delightful charred flavor that complemented the rich, natural flavors of the meat. Accompanying the steak, a creamy mashed potatoes that were velvety smooth and decadent, providing the perfect canvas to savor every morsel of the steak. The steamed broccoli added a refreshing touch of vibrancy and a delightful crunch, while the cornbread delivered a comforting and slightly sweet accompaniment that balanced the savory elements of the meal. The experience at Kelly’s Craft Tavern was nothing short of exceptional. The Flat Iron Steak was a true masterpiece, showcasing the culinary expertise and dedication to quality that this establishment is known for. If you’re seeking a memorable dining experience, I highly recommend visiting Kelly’s Craft Tavern for an extraordinary and tender meal.

Great Salmon & salad. Oh – did I mention the beer selection with 3 tiers of taps, or the wall to wall liquor selection that they have?

This was our first time to Kelly’s and it sure wasn’t a disappointment! We loved it from the moment we walked in the door. I had the adult grilled cheese and a salad- both phenomenal! Hubby had the bbq plate and loved it.
