At our Hernando, MS location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

In the past I have given this restaurant a 5 star review but recently it seems that the quality has gone down. My most recent visit was yesterday, 10/4/18. I ordered my usual order but included an order of funnel cake sticks, which at one time was very good. Yesterday I was served a very generous portion but they were so over fried that they were not edible. The visit before that I ordered green beans but when I got home there had been no top put on the container and the liquid had spilled into the baked potato. Needless to say I did not want the potato.

Long line because people in the kitchen were chatting with friends and each other. No regard to the customers backing up out the door. Guy in front of us stepped pass the cashier and placed his “order” with one of the kitchen staff. His food was bagged and ready before we even got to place our order. He did not pay for his order and was gone before we got served.
