Came here with a high expectation but turns me down soon after a few bites. All the dishes including sesame sauce are less flavourful compared with authentic Xi Ta barbecue in China. Avoid this place if you come from a long way and wish to find a home taste, you will definitely disappointed. With this price, Ktown has more options and better tastes. Two stars are for the service, that’s it.

Great large charcoal grill. They serve large portions of skewer meat at very nice prices. The grill imparts this great char and flavor to the meat and they also hand blend their sauces for you. Delicious!

Lengthy wait at peak times but satisfying quality. Definitely get there before 5 pm on weekends to avoid an hour wait. The servers grill the meats over a charcoal grill for you. Most items are spicy and it comes with ample sauces. Highly recommended!

The four stars are solely for the bbq experience and food quality. It is definitely one of the best in Flushing. Their skewers and beef were really fresh and flavorful. Combed the sesame sauce and chili sesame seasoning is absolutely delicious. But if you are a northerner like myself and mainly went to try authentic northern food, prepare to be gravely disappointed. When ordering their 锅包肉sweet and sour pork，冷面 cold noodles，溜肉段fried meat stir fried with peppers, the taste was very far off from authentic. The sweet and sour pork’s dressing was over done and the sugar caramelized so hard on the outside that it almost broke our teeth off, it was impossible to keep eating. Cold noodles were packaged and not home made. The pork and pepper stir fry tasted good but was a different flavor than what we were used to. I have tried many places that claim to be authentic northern cuisine and this place’s sweet and sour pork was the worst of all.

Not sure why this place has this high of a rating. The environment sucks. Theres no proper air filter so all the bbq smoke is floating around and you come out smelling like oil.
