Went to Suchi kuchi with friends for dinner and we all enjoyed the experience. We found that it was relatively cheap, only spending around 12 dollars per person. The food was good, i had the shrimp tempura roll and it was one of the best I have had with an amazing crust in the shrimp. There was no music and the atmosphere was average having nothing special. The service was very attentive and very kind.

Honesty only went here because it was one of the few restaurants open past 9pm on a Wednesday. The rolls were pretty good. I personally prefer nigiri but ain’t nobody trying to pay $5 for 2 pieces of sushi. Kinda weird how the menu says the rolls are $20 but they’re 50% off. Just say they’re $10.

I’m so bummed… I really wanted to love this place because the one it replaced was an easy 5 star sushi spot. So they had big shoes to fill. However, some big red flags were too big to overlook. First off, the dining area is uncomfortably close and doesn’t have a lot of charm to make it an inviting place to enjoy some sushi. There were only two other tables eating when I was there and the waitress told me to sit anywhere… but nowhere looked appealing. So when I did choose a table I immediately noticed how uncomfortable the wooden chairs were. Pretty to look at but not pleasant to sit in. Soooo… I ordered three rolls and a miso. The miso was great, nice and fresh. As well as the ginger, chilled just like I like it. But the wasabi was… I dunno, tasteless. It had a strange texture but may as well not have been there. I’ve never had wasabi like that. Not good. The rolls were fine, nothing over the top or memorable. But the price… they list them all at 50% off but the prices are so obviously inflated and the 50% just brings them down to the regular price you’d pay anywhere else. It’s just a gimmick that is frankly insulting the intelligence of their customers. Just tell us the price, don’t be weird about it. We aren’t dumb!

My partner got a bunch of nigiri and I got the salmon roll and soft shell crab roll. The food was ok, wasn’t terribly authentic, and decently priced. 3 stars for the service. While there were tables available, it took a while for someone to acknowledge us and seat us. They seated us before giving us menus, and it took a minute or two to get a menu. When we were ready to order, we had to flag our waiter down twice. And when the food came out, they gave my partner his nigiri 7 minutes before mine was ready. Granted, they might have thought we were sharing everything, but I awkwardly sat there without anything in front of me while my partner waited. At the end, they apologized for the wait, but it definitely wasn’t efficient.
