Not a bad place for breakfast in a small town. We ate here every morning while in town for work. The prices are good. Portions are ok but not great. The food is better than most diners.

Second time I’ve came here and both times the food was delicious! Pay attention to the special board when you walk in because there is usually somethin different and delicious. I had a “Crunchy French toast” that’s had a homeade orange cream cheese marmalade. It was very fancy and the presentation was adorable <3. The service could use alittle work but its hard to have a personality in the morning :)

What a wonderful diner right along 94W. Breakfast meals were delicious and pecan pie was marvelous! The atmosphere is that of a classic diner. Hostess and serving staff were very friendly and helpful. Great little find!

We’ve eaten at Free Range twice so far and there will definitely be more times in the future. My wife and I LOVE their biscuits and gravy. I’ve had a waffle, my wife has had French toast and a breakfast platter. Everything has been excellent. They serve hot syrup in pourable bottles – one of several nice touches we noticed. I ordered a piece of cherry pie on our last visit…definitely NOT canned cherries. The pie had plenty of cherries and was not rich in sugary syrup…well done!

On a road trip from Canada to Wisconsin, we stopped in for breakfast and a rest from driving. The parking lot looked full, so we thought this was going to be a great place to eat. I’m guessing the full parking lot was from staff because the restaurant itself wasn’t even 1/4 full. We were seating quickly, and our server, Lisa, arrived at our table, without any sort of greeting, just a quick, “What are you drinking”? My husband and I both ordered breakfast skillets and my daughter ordered the chicken and waffle and we all had a glass of apple juice. The skillets were small, like the size of saucer or bread plate, luke warm and very bland. The ingredients are also chopped up way too small, they should call it a breakfast crumble, not a breakfast skillet. My daughter’s chicken and waffle was the worst. The waffle was so overdone, it was dark brown and difficult to cut into. The chicken was just chopped up chicken fingers. The nicest part was the warmed up syrup. Halfway through our meal, Lisa, the server, slammed our bill on the table and walked away. Our bill came to $54 and change (which is about $73 for us Canadians), for sub par food and even worse service. General niceties go a long way….heck, a simple, “Good morning” or even a smile would have been appreciated. We definitely won’t be stopping back in on our way home.

We’ve been here twice now, and it’s not worth coming back. The food is ok, but you can get it anywhere, she service was lacking. Didn’t help that I watched her pick her wedgie at the window while loading my food on her tray.

Well laid out and airy. The first waitress was very abrupt, the second was friendly and helpful. The food was vastly over priced with small portions on everything but the onion rings. The gyro was luke warm and not fresh, the burger was bland. This whole meal cost $44 for mediocre food at best (we were never offered the opportunity to review the bill). When we saw the name we assumed it would be fresh tasty local food, we couldn’t have been more wrong.

The service was great. They are a little overworked. The food is getting smaller… The lady at the cash register didn’t seem to know how to ring things up. Maybe she just needs more help with training
