How it took me so long to try this place I’ll never know. But I regret it because it is such good new Mexican food. I’m obsessed with all the tacos. Each one has its own delicious flavor. Chicharron is a favorite of mine. I want to try the whole menu. The chile relleno is a classic egg fried. Spicy chile. Small and simple dining area. Another awesome spot for a casual authentic eat here in Albuquerque. Thank you !

Tried this place because we found it off of a Google review! It was right down the street and me and my wife loved this place. Great service, amazing food and the price is amazing!

This is Mexican food (not new Mexican but they do serve some x-mas chile) and yes, the flavor is there, you can tell because the cook have like 20+ yrs of experience. Rubens burrito I had and carnitas gordita is 5 star, nice waitress always taking care of your coffee cup. They take cards and Tap payment for your phone, is not expensive, receipt shows what I pay for 2 coffees, the bigger burrito, a full dinner enchiladas plate, extra eggs and extra gorditas (the wife was hungry )

This here is a quaint Mexican restaurant with bold flavors and authentic plates. Food portions are generous and satisfying. Service is good but the wait is exceptionally long and that’s why it didn’t get 5 stars

Very good New Mexican food. I had there red chile, beef enchiladas. The chile is spicy and had a good taste. The beer had a good flavor. Add some sour cream on top and it was perfect. The pinto beans and rice were also very good. Overall a very good and authentic dish. Come and eat here.

My favorite little New Mexican gem in ABQ. Very home style feel to the food, pretty straightforward but diverse menu. I often get my favorite, the red chili beef plate. My kids have gotten burritos and quesadillas before and they’re ample and delicious. The homemade corn tortillas are awesome, much better than many other places. I’ve also gotten the torta and enchiladas and both were excellent.

I live on the other side of ABQ, but this, by far, has become my favorite Mexican restaurant. The food is made with love – fresh, affordable, and unequivocally delicious. When I dine in, I feel a sense of being at home and welcome. I can talk all day, but words fail to do justice to how special this restaurant is to me. I’ll say one last thing: try the menudo – it can truly change your life and make it brighter.

Small local restaurant for neighborhood clientel. Decent food at decent price. Staff is friendly. We got the window table. There are two window tables, and several interior tables. You sit down, and waitress brings you the menu. They also have Aqua Fresca on the drink menu. The owner Ruben is also the cook.

The first time I ate at Rubens was delicious. I had a trio of spicy chicken tacos. Their prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. That’s the second time I’ve used that word. The second time I ate there was with a friend and I had the huevos divorcionades. Apparently food can get a divorce, just like people..hehe. The third time I had the original huevos rancheros. Delicioso! Chips and salsa are complimentary. I’d say it’s much more than just a hole in a wall kind of place. It’s more like a donut hole inside of a big donut. Ok, time to get my Glazed Grinders on.
