Solar Brewing is the first brewpub in Oak Island NC featuring craft beer and soda as well as amazing pizza, wings, and whatever creations our talented kitchen staff may produce. We are proud to serve the community since Halloween of 2022.
We welcome children and we have a couple highchairs for the very young. We also serve craft sodas so that children as well as adults who do not consume alcohol may still participate in the artistry of a craft brewery. Solar Brewing isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a mission to connect all citizens of the Solar System by way of great food and drink in a welcoming atmosphere.

Had dinner with my family last night. We almost didn’t choose Solar because of some of the reviews about the service. I’m glad we went anyway. First of all the food was amazing and came out in a good time after we ordered. Just about every table was full and there were only two people working the front. With that we were greeted and ordered beverages, the soft drinks came out right away, but it took a little longer for the beer (understandable with the crowd at 630 PM. Beer selection was great guest taps and Taps with Solar’s brews. Enjoyed dinner and even let my teenagers drive back to the house after dinner. My wife and I had another round and walked back to the house. I’ll be back.. as for the service it seemed comparable to many places on the island this time of year…

The food is delicious (and came out quickly once we got to order) and the selection of drinks is great. They are just way understaffed and you have to engage the servers…my party of 8 came in, sat down at a table we had to clean off, and no one acknowledged us. Once we made contact they were friendly and attentive to us. I truly hope this place makes it…they just need a few tweaks.

A nice little brewery. We got the loaded jalapeños fries and the Cheeseburger pizza. They were both excellent. I tried their two IPAs and both were good. My favorite was the Jack’s IPA. My wife had the Solar Brewing Bald Head Brown. She really liked that one. The employees were super nice.

Really nice light beer new Belgium lager. Wings were really good. Pizza however was great. Meat with banana peppers and jalapeños. Service was a little slow otherwise it would be 5 stars

It’s a nice little brewery. They have some good beers.. And some that aren’t great like anywhere else… Their pizza is really good! I’ve been a couple times. Service was great the first time. Couldn’t ask for better. The second time it wasn’t quite as great. They were overall friendly… But the food was SLOOOOW. And this was a time they weren’t even very busy. Hugely dissapointed. I overheard several other people complaining about how long their food was taking too. It took about 40 minutes for an appetizer. ….they brought out a couple pizzas in the time we waited for our app. They were nice… But KEPT saying. ” It’ll be out soon “….. It never came out.

I guess the bad thing is I dont like craft beer. I went knowing I would drink a soft drink. I did try two samples but craft beer is not my thing. Now on to the food…. the app was fried pickles. Fried great coated great tasted great. The type pickle they use is tasty and the match of coating is top notch. The entree…pizza it was the Solar Flair (I forgot name maybe) tasted great cooked correct. The crust was really great…crust makes a pizza. This will be a go to place for pizza. (I wish they had a larger one also). The topping were quality in taste. I also will be back to try the wings. Had several sauces on the menu and about everyone caught my eye. As with all of the island…parking can be short and at prime time left hand turns are bad

The pizza was amazing! We got the pizza of the day and two of their normal menu pizzas. Their crust and flavors are so good! Drinks were yummy as well. However, the service was terrible. We had to find our waiter on several occasions to make our order, get more drinks, and get our bill. At no time did staff seek us out. The food was wonderful but, I hope they are able to work through these kinks.

I had the pleasure of visiting Solar Brewing Company recently and I was very impressed. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the beer is excellent. I tried the Oak Island Brown Ale and the Sherrill Street IPA, both of which were very flavorful and well-made. I would definitely recommend Solar Brewing Company to anyone looking for a great place to enjoy a beer and relax with friends.

I really enjoyed the environment and the staff is extremely nice! Our waiter was helpful and honest when I asked questions and the food came out FAST! He was very kind and kept trying to give us time to look, but also remain close by! You can’t really get bored here because of the delicious beer, food, and fun games to play!

Ate pizza and drank their Belgian Witbier. Both the food and drink were outstanding! Service was attentive as well. The beer selection was not great—4 were either sold out or “coming soon”. But my real gripe is the music. I really hated the music and it was LOUD. We were there at lunchtime and most patrons appeared to be in their 50s and 60s (as are we) and I believe the music playing in any establishment should be geared toward the paying customers. It’s hard to go wrong with classic rock IMO. Even my kids who are in their 20s and 30s enjoy it. We’re local and I can see us becoming regular customers if the music improves to our liking. (Addendum in response to owner’s reply: The music was not a live band. It was playing over the sound system. There’s some sort of jukebox type of thing on the wall just inside the door and I assume that was controlling the music but not sure who was doing the choosing. I didn’t see any customers approach the machine, and the music didn’t seem like something the patrons who were present would have chosen.)
