Upon entering I was already disappointed. When I hear steakhouse I expect a nice experience, a little ambiance and upscale food. The waitress greated us immediately on entering and sat us. The place is clean and well kept. But the atmosphere is that of a roadside diner. The menu does not appear that they specialize in anything, in fact I nearly ran out the door when I saw that in addition to steaks (starting at $30), seafood, sandwiches and the typical affair, they have Chinese and Mexican food as well. The menu does not state what comes with any of the meals so I asked and the waitress stood right behind me with her knee on the bench behind and told me all the things that are not on the menu. An apparent frequent customer came in the door very loudly for all to hear and the waitress yelled right back. Chicken fried steak was simple but tasty, asked for mashed potatoes with it and found out later that they were an additional $3.99. I’ve never seen chicken fried steak come without mashed potatoes, but at least let me know there will be at an additional charge.

This place is one we have driven by for 5 years and WE REGRET WAITING SO LONG because our entire experience here was wonderful! First off our waitress (forgive me if I misspell it) Domanique was a very sweet helpful waitress, she was attentive and anticipated our needs. We ordered 2 appetizers (fried pickles, and boudin balls) and they were delivered to us prior to our meal just as it should be, hot and delicious. Our main course was the 1 fish 6 shrimp and 6 oysters w/ 1 stuffed crab (I substituted onion rings instead of fries) with coleslaw. The tea was not just fresh but had a nice robust flavor like southern tea should be, no weak restaurant tea here, more importantly she made sure to ask if we wanted a lemon with our tea which is a very appreciated question! All our food was fresh and hot and in a timely manner. I cannot say enough how impressed we were with every aspect of our visit and we will definitely be coming back for more!!! Kudos to the staff here you left us wanting more!!!

Looks like an all right place I’m staying in the hotel next to this restaurant and looked on their online menu to see what they had. Then when I went and ordered and picked it up, I realize that everything that was on the menu online was not offered when I asked to speak to a manager a young girl came over and tried to explain me that it wasn’t their policy to honor what they have online. This is their online website with Google and then when I asked for the name of the general manager, she told me she couldn’t give out that information because they were out of town overall has no actual hospitality factors, poor management, and poor customer service I would stay away if they manage the restaurant that way who knows what’s going on in the kitchen

The food was absolutely excellent!!! The grilled stuffed flounder was superb. This was our first time eating inside we’ve grabbed to go and it was excellent as well. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Toast the ghost
The building is old, a bit unconventional and the name has changed but the food is pretty excellent. Had a grilled snapper fillet and 6 jumbo shrimp on a bed of roasted zucchini and rice pilaf. Cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The food took a little while but everything looked and tasted fresh, so worth the wait. I did not have any steak but if you’re on that side of town and looking for good seafood, this place is worth the visit.
