On our last day visiting family here in Albany they took us to this quaint yet large local restaurant. Besides being just a restaurant it supports individuals and a local organization that helps people with addictions.

As much as I wanted this to be a 5 star experience, our second visit was not as epic as the first! The good–my husband’s chicken salad wrap was just as delicious as the first visit and the homemade chips are crispy and tasty. The not-so-good– my candied bacon BLT on sourdough bread was lackluster with one redemption–the bread was delicious; soft with a crispy crust and enticing enough to keep me from ditching the sandwich! The candied bacon was cold, chewy, and shared a characteristic with the lettuce and tomato–sparsity! For the price, the sandwich had little filling, but that bread was tasty! Now, the bowl of corn chowder we shared the first visit was creamy and filled with potatoes, corn, and sausage–I think. This visit it was like a broth-thin and VERY few ingredients! It did, however, have a nice taste. This doesn’t mean we won’t go back–we will, to give their Fall menu a try! I also enjoyed a chocolate chip cookie and a great iced coffee the first visit, so they are definitely worth breaking some bread with!

This is one of the best places in Albany. (Though the bar is very low considering the restaurant scene here.) The food is good and the snickerdoodle cookies are the best I’ve ever had. Fair warning: If you come at the wrong time, the service will be slow.

I tried the Breadhouse with some friends and loved it! I had the Zambian Chanwich and it was delicious! It was a little pricey, but the proceeds go to a great cause so well worth it! We’ll definitely be visiting again!

I had the chicken salad sandwich. It was just okay. Honestly I was not really impressed buy the food or the items on the menu. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and was clean, friendly service. I was not impressed by the bread, but love the cause and what the proceeds from dining at the Bread House benefits.

Very cute place from the decor to the super nice and helpful staff. The food was not great at all. Ordered a mushroom and Swiss burger. On the menu or anywhere said it would be fully loaded with lettuce, tomatoes to onions. All of which I don’t eat. Ruining my food and experience.

Always awesome and friendly service! I’m vegan and I love that I didn’t have an issue with finding something on the menu for me.
