One of the better Mexican restaurants we’ve visited! Unfortunately, I only have a photo of the guacamole, which was absolutely amazing and so fresh. I recommend ordering it. They have great margaritas available too, and the tacos were tasty! Conveniently located if you’re going to a Capitals or Wizards game too, as we were. You may want to make a reservation, if that’s the case. We didn’t, but we got a table outside.

the food is spectacular. the decor is beautiful. love the butterflies everywhere, a clever nod to the name. the service was top notch especially during a crowded evening. best dishes I tried were the black garlic shrimp and the ceviche!

We are a Belgian family that had just arrived in DC after a week in NYC. What a great experience this was! Feeling exhausted and finally having time for a real restaurant, we were welcomed by our waiter and the menu and setup was explained. We picked several dishes to share, sides and rice. That did not disappoint. The food and cocktails were perfect, very refined and fresh. This is the best meal we had on our trip and a great intro on mexican food. Only one negative aspect, in our country we spend much more time in a restaurant, so it would be considered rude to bring the bill that fast and check if the credit card is there. It is a cultural difference of course. A meal we will not soon forget!

Amazing Mexican restaurant. We had a large party, with no reservation, but they found a way to accommodate. Great margaritas with a salty foam to spoon on top, rather than salted rim — recommended! We split a bunch of small plates, including the grasshopper tacos, tuna taco, three bowls of the guacamole for the group to share, and more. We had two vegetarians and a vegan in the group and everyone got wonderful food. Highly recommended!

Went there for restaurant week and got two four course lunches. The service was the best I’ve ever experienced. Often waiters/waitresses almost exclusively speak directly to my fiance which can be slightly annoying. Our waiter made me feel seen and was completely on top of every aspect of our experience with the restaurant. The food was simple but nailed each of the flavors in the dish.

the best Mexican restaurant I’ve been to! the tortilla chips were crisp and warm and the guacamole was *so* good. the small tapas plates were a fun opportunity to try new things I hadn’t before – like the ceviche (containing grasshoppers). service was lovely and they even brought a free dessert at the end because it was our anniversary
