As a freshman, the dining hall is great if you have no money and need some quick food, and that’s about it. The food is almost inedible at times, the staff, with the except of maybe 2 or 3, are rude and cold, and don’t really care if you make a special request. And there are ALWAYS flies. No matter where you eat in there, you will always have a fly buzzing around your plate, and they’ve been there so long, even if you swat them away, they are unfazed. It’s disgusting, the menu is inconsistent, the food is nasty, and for how much you have to pay if you want a meal plan to even get the CHANCE to eat there without spending $10 just to see what they have, you’d think they’d be more caring about the atmosphere. Plus, when schools comes to visit and they eat at the dining hall, the staff treat them 20x better than they treat us. The kids that spent $5 to eat there get better treatment that then students who spend around $1500 per semester for a meal plan. Disappointing, don’t waste your time.

I took my students on a Graduate Tour here to view the campus, and our overall experience was awesome! They enjoyed the dining hall and the wide variety of choices you could choose from. They had everything from pizza, to hamburgers, vegan food and the list continues to grow. The food was very good and I wish I were a student there, so I could eat there often.

This place serves some of the worst excuses for food I’ve ever eaten. On more than one occasion they cut a meatball in half , put it in half of a hotdog bun and call it a sandwich. Their grilled cheeses are not even grilled. They’re just cheese on bread so they can churn them out faster. Even if the food were better, I still would not enjoy coming here. The staff, with very few notable exceptions, are the absolute rudest human beings I have ever encountered. They act like us students are the ones responsible for their miserable jobs and take it out on us. Even at the worst fast food joints I’ve been, I still felt like I was treated as a human. At the dining hall, I feel like I’m treated like cattle.

During my four years at South Alabama, the dining hall has had its ups and downs. The only consistency is pizza: there’s always a pepperoni or cheese out next to whatever specialty pizza they’re cooking. Occasionally there’s some good dishes, like that one time they had Thanksgiving turkey, but mostly the food is meh. There used to be somewhat of a schedule, but now the only scheduled food types is fried chicken (good!) on Wednesday. Staff is mostly cordial, at worst ambivalent to you.

As a student living on campus, I can assure you that living on campus is not worth it solely based on the dining hall. Anyone living on campus is forced to purchase a meal plan, with the cheapest option costing nearly the same as housing itself. The food is edible, but not good by any means, and the portion sizes they serve only last for roughly two bites. If you show up at the wrong time (3-4), they have no entrees. On weekends after breakfast, they serve the same food all day every day. I had to compensate by forcing myself to eat burgers and pizza everyday because it wasn’t worth it trying to stomach their usual entrees anymore. Eating has now become a chore instead of an enjoyment. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is been ruined.

Great place to eat with your meal plan. Only problem is their soft serve ice cream machine. It’s always broken like McDonald’s,and there is no straws.

It’s a product of USA and you can use a jag card. And it’s the food is good most of the time! After 8 o’clock the options significantly minimize so of you want more than pizza…come before 8!!

it a cafeteria at a school they make the food there so its pretty edible but most students prefer the food at the food court at the student center but the pizza is good so are the burgers, fries (on a good day ,the good ones out number the bad so far), and if you don’t see anything you like try the cereal and or bread/toast with jelly and peanut butter as well as butter, lunch is the best time to try it.

The food is only edible like one day of the week. The pizza tastes like cardboard and plastic that used to hold cheese ten years ago.

Words can’t describe the festering hellpit that this school subjects it’s residents to. Other than a handfull of perfectly lovely employees a vast majority of them seem to have been spawned in a murky swamp fed only the fetuses of aborted children , and experiencing no human emotion other than hate and avarice. Sometimes the cafeteria trolls aren’t able to capture and peel rats to provide meat, and instead must resort to using overcooked strips of horse leather, those are good days. My only hope is that on one of the handful of times the ice cream machine is running, they place a few shards of broken glass In so that my suffering will finally end.
