I had a disappointing experience at Royal Nepal Bistro. The food was incredibly bland and lacked flavor. Both the butter chicken and vegetarian thali were not up to par, and even the chicken thali fell short. The overall taste was underwhelming and some dishes had a strange flavor. The communication of the staff was also not great. However, I must mention that the restaurant had great decor and a nice location. Despite the positive ambiance, the quality of the food was absolutely terrible.

Nice restaurant with a simple ambiance and a warm welcome. The Mom Platter was excellent and highly recommended. However, the Rack of Lamb was chewy and didn’t meet expectations. The Stir-Fried Aaloo Cauli Paneer was average. The KURAUNI dish didn’t feel homemade either. Despite some disappointments, I would definitely go back for their delicious Momos and flavorful masala tea.

This is an amazing restaurant! Everything was so tasty and their customer service was great 🙂 I went to here with my friend. We had pork belly and Momo (dumpling, boar & Chicken) for appetizer, and Rack of Lamb and Stir Fried Aaloo Cauli Paneer for entree. Lamb was so tender and good flavor! You can enjoy their unique spice flavors. I’ll take my husband for next time for sure. Thank you for serving all delicious foods.

Tried this place while visiting DC. I am a Nepali and I can absolutely vouch that the food is 100% authentic Nepali. Started with the Daal and then tried buff sukuti, haku choila, bhutan and of course the momo!!

I lived in Nepal for many years and I was pleasantly surprised that this restaurant prepares dishes as if I were still in Nepal. Everything is very tasty. We will definitely come back not alone but with friends. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time at Royal Nepal Bistro! The waiters treated us like it was a very fancy restaurant, with an amuse-bouche like lentil soup sample, pickled veggies to compliment our drinks, and different table setting for appetizers and the main entrees. We got the momo sampler plate as an appetizer and it was very good! We really appreciated how each flavor/filling was wrapped differently, so it was easy to tell them apart. My personal favorite was the lamb(which is impressive because I don’t typically like lamb) but the boar was really good too. The only one that wasn’t great was the veggie, because it was not very flavourful and it had no texture. For the entree, we got several dishes including the butter chicken and lamb curry. Both were great, but their meats were a little dry/overcooked. My favorite dish was actually the lentil soup sample and if I go again, I might just get that as my meal because the side serving (someone else got) was a very generous bowl with rice. Overall, the atmosphere was also very calm and inviting, and the bathrooms were very clean.
