Drawing inspiration from the success of his steakhouse’s bar menu, award-winning chef Mike Mariola founded The Rail in 2011 as a full-service burger restaurant and bar suitable for any occasion.
The Rail’s burgers are honest and local; 100% of the beef used in our restaurants comes from local farms. The well-rounded menu also features local chicken, local dairy products used in our milkshakes, draft beers born and brewed in Ohio and craft cocktails with spirits from local distilleries.
We take our beer and cocktail selection as seriously as we take our burgers. We highlight a locally curated cocktail and beer list with spirits from Ohio-based distilleries and beers from Ohio-based breweries, rounding out the complete Rail experience.

Nice location. They’ve been open about 7 months. Easy, free parking. Went on a Wednesday evening. Seated right away. Server was new(said it was his second day), but did an outstanding job. We ordered the chicken nachos. Super tasty, but very little cheese. If you’re looking for stringy, cheesy goodness, these aren’t for you! We don’t like the fake stuff, so we were fine with them. Not even sure what kind of cheese they use because there was so little. The burgers were outstanding and cooked perfectly to order. String fries are addicting. I had the power bowl with chicken. Very good flavors. Overall, a great experience and we’ll be back to try some other things!

The interior has a minimalist feel to it. The bar was short-staffed and required a longer- than- expected wait time to be served. Our waiter was attentive and verified our special meal requests as he wrote them down. The meals were served promptly. The grilled chicken (locally sourced) club was tender with delicious Swiss, bacon, lettuce, and tomato toppings. The “go naked” burger, also locally sourced, was flavorful with the onions and mushrooms on top. The skinny fries were like the potato sticks in a can we used to eat for snacks. The menu was extensive and offered several made-from-scratch dishes.

I am very excited to have The Rail in Grandview. The space is absolutely amazing with a great bar area, and I look forward to checking out the patio this spring. The food is awesome with some of the best burgers around. They have a really excellent Ohip centric beer selection and really good cocktails. And perhaps most importantly everyone I interacted with there was friendly, welcoming and very on top of their hospitality game.

Went in on a Sunday night to come across a $10 burger and Brew special! Absolutely fantastic with how expensive everything is now a days. Food was great, the kids menu was actually great as well! where else can you find a good quality burger and a CBC Bodhi for $10? We will absolutely be back! The patio was very comfortable even with being so close to Riverside Drive and our server was friendly and knew what she was doing. A great experience and I hope everyone checks this place out!

Had a great first experience at this place. The Sunday special of a burger and a beer for $10 is not to be missed! Get in there while it lasts! The burger was very good. The blood orange Rail-arita was quite nice and could be consumed by the pitcher! Kid friendly menu was a success with my two. The shoestring fries were a little on the stale side sadly, but seasoned well and still got devoured. My family will be regulars if this first visit is a sign of things to come.

Food was great! Try the mixed patty if you’re looking for something different. Sat on the patio on a nice evening, not many folks around at the time. Draft beers took almost 10 minutes to make it to the table and saw our server 3 times. Would have ordered more drinks but didn’t really have many opportunities to do so. Will return down the road and give them another shot!
