After searching the day before for places to eat for lunch on our way to the Petrified Forest National Park, we found Sombreritos. We were very happy with the food and service. The service was on point. Everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned. The chips were warm and freshly fried. The salsa was fresh with the perfect level of mild spice. Nothing we ordered was greasy. The Deluxe Taco Salad had the perfect ratio of ingredients. Lettuce wasn’t the main ingredient, which is my complaint with other venues’ taco salads. A side note is I loved how the lettuce was chiffoned, rather than chopped into big inedible chunks. The Deluxe Taco Salad was delicious with some of the house salsa drizzled on top. The crispy tacos were hearty yet didn’t feel heavy. My husband was raving about them. The refried beans were flavorful and light. My oldest son finished everyone else’s refried beans because he liked them so much. The kids ate all of their burritos and tacos. I asked for the kids’ burritos without the red sauce, but I wish I didn’t, because the sauce probably added more flavor. It’s okay though. Everyone left very happy.

I’m vegetarian and haven’t always had the best luck trying new spots on a whim, but I had dinner here tonight while passing through on a roadtrip and the food was DIVINE. They have a whole vegetarian section, and the veggie fajitas were some of the best I’ve ever had. 10/10

For starters, in this area of Arizona you have “VERY” few restaurants of any type to choose from, but I’m glad that we chose this one. If your looking for ambiance there is NO place here that will give you that but if your looking for very good food and kind and polite service then you need to check this place out. There’s a total of 5 employees and they are also all family as well as the owners.

Diamond in the rough! The homemade salsa was literally the best I’ve ever had, I travel a lot and this place is hands down the best Mexican restaurant I’ve ever had! The service was excellent I will definitely stop again when I’m out this way!

This restaurant was well recommended and we were very happy we went there. Both the food and service was very good. The servers helped each other cover tables as the restaurant got busy. Our nachos with cheese were exactly what we needed for our hearty appetites. The Tamale + Enchilada were excellent. The Super Enchiladas with salsa verde were delicious and the chicken was in nice large pieces. The rice and beans went well with the entrees. The only thing we didn’t like is that they would only include nachos and salsa if you ordered first. Otherwise they would charge for it. I hope it’s not a sign of the times.

The staff were friendly and attentive. We ordered the fresh guacamole and homemade chips, chicken tostada lunch, and chicken chimichanga lunch. The chips and guacamole were amazing; the chips were served warm fresh from the kitchen. The guacamole was freshly made as well. The lunches were delicious. Nothing was overly seasoned. Great local establishment that I recommend on your way through or on your vacation.

Delicious food at reasonable prices. Was pleasantly surprised that the steak is much better than those steak houses. The tortillas were crunchy and very tasty with the dips. The place was packed with locals and kept coming in even though it’s near to closing time.
