GRAND OPENING ON NOVEMBER 11th 2022. Izakaya Osen Irvine is a Japanese restaurant founded by Matsumoto Cho in July 2017. Izakaya refers to a Japanese restaurant that serves the type of alcohol and subsequent simple dishes. Izakaya Osen is different from ordinary restaurants in that it mainly serves alcoholic beverages imported from Japan. The dishes are all made to give local people a close taste of Japan with Matsumoto Cho’s recipe. We provide premium sushi/ sashimi, raw bar, and Japanese fusion dishes that are new, unique, and innovative to the culinary landscape of Silverlake. We look forward to servicing our diners and also being a part of the culinary landscape of Irvine.

Great cooked tapas! I especially loved the creamy seafood udon, unagi bowl, and uni bowl! I recommend focusing on the cooked dishes here, but I’ve only been here one time and have yet to give other options another try. My server was friendly, but I’d say the overall service was not terribly respectful for this price point.

Wonderful and flavorful sushi, with high quality fish and sauces. Everything was presented with elegance and sophistication. The ambience was warm and inviting, and comfortable. Service was super quick. You could easily go here for a work lunch and be out in no time. Loved each and every bite of food. Will definitely return.
