The atmosphere was different because you order from a kiosk instead of an actual person. Food was good as always. They have some of the best Onion Rings. I was glad when they opened in the Charleston area, so we really miss having them in SC.

When there’s no longer the soda shop feel, at least there could be some cool AI stuff like in Back To The Future 2… but there’s none of that here. We were “greeted” at the door not by a smiling face, but five (maybe 6?) kiosks, only one of which accepted cash, so guess where the line was? In our state of borderline hangryness, we were ill-equipped to make the sound decision to leave, so we ordered on the touch screen, thankful we were at least now saving a tip. We sat and waited for the super enthused (not) guy at the counter to take the mic and call our name in “Bueller” monotone fashion. Back at our table, I immediately noticed my burger was missing ALL FOUR options that I had selected, as noted on the big, long slip that clearly no one on the line read. I approached the counter, tray in hand, and after about 3 minutes the super enthused guy returns and asks, “What’s missing?” Funny, it’s like he knew. Meanwhile, people are steadily coming in and turning around to leave as we enjoy our shakes and onion rings and really just make our way through our burgers. Pretty certain we will not be back to this location.

We lost our steak n shake privileges a few years ago and ALL locations closed in Cincinnati. I had the opportunity to grab some while In Florence Ky. They took away the counter person and replaced it with kiosks which is weird and genius at the same time. Place your order and wait for it. It was hot, fresh and delicious. We even got some Steak ‘n Shake trivia while we ate from the manager. If you answered correctly you won a shake! You can tell they take pride at this location and you can learn some thing in the process! Definitely visit here if your in the Florence area.

It’s a Steak n Shake. It will never be a 5 star restaurant but I’ve always got friendly and quick service. I love their shakes. They are very accommodating with swapping out ingredients or certain foods. They are definitely better than any McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King, etc. when it comes to burgers. I’ve tried a lot of things off their menu and have yet to try something I didn’t like. I wouldn’t expect gourmet because it’s still a Steak ‘N Shake. But again, best burger compared to any fast food places. Their fries are also good on their own or you can add chili or cheese or additional toppings of your choice. They have always been quick whether you’re dining in or going through the drive-thru. I would definitely recommend this establishment if you’re just looking for a quick but better option than typical fast food.

I was disappointed on this trip. I recently moved back to Northern Kentucky after 30 years away. I I was looking forward to the full Midwestern Steak N Shake experience. This location is just a self-service Steak N Shake with only sandwiches. It is not a full service restaurant.

I hadn’t been to steak ‘n shake since way back when they actually had waitresses. It’s basically a fast food restaurant with a kiosk to place your order. Burgers and fries were really good. Shakes were excellent. Order your food at a computer terminal then you pick it up at the counter when it’s ready just like a McDonald’s. But the order came up very quick, and like I said, the burgers and fries are really good and the shakes were excellent.

Great food and great customer service. The manager on duty (sorry didn’t catch his name) came to each table personally to check on guests and stop and carry on a conversation. You don’t get that very much anymore. It was much appreciated.

Absolutely had the worst experience ever!!!! Absolutely disgusting!!! First, let me start off by saying the soda and ice dispenser had green and black mold on it. Can you imagine the amount of people who have used this machine and never even noticed? The GM should be so ashamed of themselves for this. Per safety and health regulations this machine is supposed to be properly cleaned every night after closing. Secondly, the whole inside of this building was disgusting and smelt so bad. Everything I touched was sticky and there was old food everywhere. The floors looked like they haven’t been mopped ever!! My child wanted to play on the arcade machines and I wouldn’t let her because who knows when they were cleaned last? Wow!!! I feel sick to my stomach. This is so sad!!! Will never be back. I Would give zero stars if I could.
