We had the haddock chowder. It is absolutely delicious with a lot of haddock in it. Very impressed. My counterpart also had a very good hamburger with crispy, non- greasy fries. The service was excellent and the windows are open for a slight breeze, not many people inside so was comfortable eating in.

I stayed located on my travels and ate breakfast, and dinner only travels here. 4.9 is closer to 5, so 5 stars from me. The pizza burger was a bit too wet and loose, but tasted great, and was easier to eat with a knife and fork. The haddock chowder was great. I ordered the large, but as everything arrived I saw the size of everything. I tried to eat it all but could not, as I didn’t want to be rude by not finishing my food. A big lunch would have only been the bowl of soup.

Super friendly server but short staff and nasty words exchanged from the kitchen. Ordered a burger, beef was low end. House flies need controlling !! Sorry not impressed and I love diners but would not recommend until they get better quality food and help.

On March 4, 2022 we ate at Wickachee Restaurant in Calais. As with all our previous meals there everything was delicious and the service was geat! The owner/waiter as always is a delight! The haddock was perfectly cooked, the fries crispy, the wheat rolls fresh and delicious. We all were too full to try any dessert, but there were many choices. This is a great place to eat. We may try breakfast there on our next visit.

Conveniently located across the street from Calais Motor Inn, the Wickachee Dining room is a rose among the thorns. While small in size, the dining area is warm and inviting without being cluttered. Our server was of a caliber one expects in a five star restaurant-knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly while maintaining a professional distance. Our food was served hot, fresh and in a timely manner & WOW! We were shocked at the size of the sea scallops! Huge, but perfectly cooked, as was the medium-rare steak and German potatoes that rounded out my husband’s meal. My roasted turkey dinner was simply delicious, with real mashed potatoes, stuffing, turkey gravy, a bit of cranberry sauce, and butternut squash. My husband rarely finishes a plate, but he enjoyed every last bite!

It was a nice place to stop after a day of driving up the coast. The haddock chowder had at least half a pound of haddock. Strongly recommend the German potatoes.

Excellent food and portions sizes are amazing. If you leave here hungry then it is because you did not eat. Dick and his son Rick are amazing ppl whom you would never know have a bad day in their life. Their attitudes are always friendly and welcoming. The staff are friendly and easy to speak with. Highly recommended this place.

Always love it here, a real family down home restaurant, all food made in house, amazing taste, great serving size, a hidden gem for sure. Always have a few dishes on special. Have a great exchange rate on Canadian money. I believe they are licensed to sell beer and wine as well. You won’t be disappointed at all.
