And it’s been like this since we opened the doors of the first TOGO’S in San Jose, California back in 1971. We made the meatiest, most delectable sandwiches around. The sandwiches are okay but the girls here are the slowest humans on the planet. They’re only in high school so they really have no reason to take 20 minutes to make one sandwich. Seriously. One sandwich that didn’t involve any cooking. And it’s not the first time, it’s every time I have come here. I usually try to avoid this ToGos because of how slow the girls are but sometimes you just want a sandwich and don’t want to drive a half hour for lunch. AKA out of desperation.

I always get the Hot Pastrami & Provolone cheese it’s a favorite however the last 2 visits were disappointing as I ask myself Wheres The Meat? It USE to be super high and now I chew more bread then pastrami! I had to remove 1 layer of bread to justify. I understand your trying to accommodate price increases on your products so let us decide if we want MORE on our sandwich like Subway does!? What can’t you offer more meat for a couple bucks?

My experience here the other day was awkward. The women working were not friendly at all. They looked miserable and were not hiding it. The woman at the register was not friendly and didn’t smile. She looked like it was annoying her that I wanted to make an order. I asked what the bread options were and she just looked at me and pointed at the board. I even put a tip in the jar hoping she would brighten up a bit but that didn’t work. The minutes waiting for my order were torture. The music was some depressing song and with the looks in the women’s faces I just wanted to get out of there as fast as I could. The meatball sandwiches looked fine but my pastrami seemed thrown together and not what the picture looks like. I’m unsure if I’ll ever go back. It’s a bummer because this place used to be great.

Ordered online and it was ready when we got there. It was extremely busy and I didn’t get the extra meat that I ordered. When I informed them, after the fact, the owner refunded the extra money I had paid. I really appreciated his quick response and willingness to take care of it. I will continue to give Scotts Valley Togo’s my business. They usually do a great job and we enjoy their food.
