Went to Turkuaz Cafe last night with my girlfriend and it was fantastic! The food, cleanliness and service were excellent! We had some delicious Turkish dishes and agreed it was one of the best meals we ever had. It’s been a few years since I last came here but will be back very soon. Many thanks to the great people operating the restaurant!

We had this to-go, but after seeing the beautiful atmosphere inside I would love to come back to dine in. We tried a few of their pides (basically Turkish pizzas), which were pretty delicious! Their baklava was the best we have had in a while. The sour cherry drink was very unique and everything came with a few sides (a soup, slaw, and vegetable medley).

Great food and atmosphere. Walked in with a party of 4 during dinner rush and were able to be seated immediately. There were tables with chairs and also an area on the ground with tables where customers could eat if they removed their shoes. The carpeting and seating area seemed very authentic.

I walked into the place and I knew I’d love it. It had raised carpeted platform with floor seating! Of course that’s where we sat! It made my newly wed wife and I the center of attention! Not only was it a wonder place to relax in, but the food was even more superb! The most remarkable part was it was only a husband and wife team cooking. It felt like you were costume cooked food by a TV professional chef. The best Turkish food I’ve ever had! It was even inclusive to a randomly proposed toast! It had a wonderful atmosphere.

Amazing place to eat, we had a large combination Pide (huge), a lamb Turkuaz Kabob in a clay crock, yaglama appetizer, (maybe our favorite item), tart Cherry juice, and baklava. We really wanted to try as much as we could as my girlfriend wants to visit Istandbul, but one could get a small pide and water and be happy only spending 10bucks. Really great portions and service, we’ll be back!

Carl and Owners were doing their best to keep up with the 1 o’clock rush. Great flavorful food options. This was our first time here and will return. We noticed that the places we visited we see the different culture expectations and expected level service without understanding the queue. Thank you for the love and shared experience that made our food today.

This was an unexpected find in Bloomington. There was food that I had never heard of and it was delicious. We ordered three appetizers and one main course and it was plenty of food for three of us (but probably not if we had been college kids!) We did manage to squeeze in a couple of pieces of baklava as well.

I have been to Turkuaz Cafe multiple times now and I can confidently say it is one of my favorite places in Bloomington. The service is fantastic, it all feels very personal. The food is excellent, the best Turkish food in town. For appetizers, I have had the Baba Ghanoush and Hummus, both were very good but a small portion. They place the dips on each individual piece of pita bread rather than giving you a dip which is odd but the portions on each bread are more than enough. The Baba Ghanoush has a bit of a Smokey flavor but is very good. Many compare the pides to a “Turkish pizza” and they are exquisite. We enjoyed the Princessa pide which had ground meat and cheese. The price is good for the amount of food you get. The entrees and the pides all come with a lentil soup which is spectacular. It is a bit peppery but I enjoy that. My favorite meat to get there is the Lamb. I have had both the lamb Sis and lamb Turkuaz kebab which is more like a lamb stew. I enjoyed the Turkuaz kebab (stew) more because I mixed it with the rice it came with and it was amazing. For dessert, they have many options but we opted for the Baklava which were quite good. Their Turkish tea is great to finish off the meal. I highly recommend Turkuaz Cafe if you’re looking for delicious Turkish food in the area.

We ate here during graduation weekend. Usually it’s really good but this time it was quite disappointing. To preface the employees were working very hard and I understand how busy they were, but the food was slow, not as tasty, smaller than usual portions, and very expensive. We got a smaller menu and the prices were increased about 50%. On top of that the servings were tiny and definitely not worth the price. It took us an hour to get a plate of hummus… I’m not sure why it took so long. Overall just very disappointed with the whole experience

After eating at Anatolia on 4th St I was super excited to try another Turkish restaurant in the area. However, I was a bit disappointed.
