The Hungry Goat used to be my favorite place to eat in town, but now, sadly, it’s so unpredictable. The hours and days of operation are not consistent. The food is hit and miss, and it’s more common than not that they are out of everything. It’s really disappointing because this place was great at one point, and I really enjoyed the fact that I could get comfort foods or fried curry rice and fish depending on my mood.

Awesome place with awesome staff. Quiet and small but you won’t leave hungry. My 6 year old even ate the dumplings. And she doesn’t eat stuff like that.

It’s called Hungry Goat, December 2021. I would love for all small family owned restaurants in Harlan and everywhere to succeed and thrive. The turkey and dressing looks good and serving size is generous. I don’t care for canned green beans, some people like them I guess but instant mash potatoes etc I probably wouldn’t go back. The dessert brownie was good

Ribs were good. Not fast food, but home style food. Sides, corn was just normal, hashbrown casserole was good. New place. One person working front and back. Little areas to improve. But definitely some of the better food in the area.

Unfortunately the food they catered for a 200+ person fundraiser event I attended tonight was not a “good eat”. They served pot roast with unwashed potatoes, under-seasoned chicken, instant mashed potatoes, canned green beans with canned stewed tomatoes, flavorless grits, and a salad composed of a premixed bag of rusty/wilted iceburg lettuce.
