Childhood favorite of mine. Great portions and amazing taste. The only reason I gave it a 4 is that every time I order there, the cashier treats me like I owe them rent money. Im glad this business survived covid, and i hope it stays here forever

Best food I’ve had since leaving the south … hands down .. ion wanna hear nothing about paying no fowty fo wangs… go to Mac Donald’s and spend 20 to die early … I’ll eat me some o dat soul food any day …. You have to know 1. Real food is not cheap and if they charge 20 fo a box that weighs 6 pounds you’re eating good for yourself twice… ok.. I’m sorry to be brash but my heart ❤️ goes out to these people that serve us real good soul food that spans generations and I’ll pay to support that any day.. the man that cooked my meal brought it to my car man… real hospitality. Real soul… buy that? Priceless….. I have spoken

Sal’s Birdland Restaurant on East Ridge Road, Rochester, makes excellent 1/2 Chicken & gizzards. Potato wedges, Mac salad & beans are a must.

One of the best if not the best chicken spot in Rochester. The wings, Mac salad, potato wedges, garbage plates and blue cheese dip all taste excellent. No longer living in Rochester but I place my orders for seasoning when I can.

I just came with my friend and son after getting out of the hospital, I know it was 15 minutes before they closed and I apologized for ordering but they were super rude. Looked at us in discust because we were walking in. I always had good things to say about this place but it’s disappointing. I got 20 wings for $40 and will most likely not give my service again.

This place has definitely lost its value. I moved away and it was the first fast food place I wanted to go to returning. I Paid $30 for chicken that were full of feathers. I picked them off a couple but One was so bad I had to stop trying to pick around. It shows that the care is not there. The chicken wasn’t fully cooked. It’s not seasoned like it use to be. To think that the cook battered these wings thinking it was ok is disgusting. Makes me question the cleanliness of the place. My family said they stopped eating there because quality is not the same. RIP to the old Sal’s Birdland. I hope I can post my picture.

With over 30 minutes left before closing, according to Google if you do not intend on serving customers for a simple order of a “snack pack” for a “pick up” order, why “pick up” the phone at all? After politely asking to place a pick up order, you rudely reply “um no..” I was dumbfounded by that response, thinking it maybe was directed towards a coworker while picking up the phone , I asked kindly again in the same polite fashion to hear again.. “umm No!” … “I said No!”. Typical Rochester retail workers. Power trip much? Providing a polite response and or an explanation to why you cannot take the order is the proper way to handle business. Utterly disappointed in the professionalism of this establishment. Sal’s Birdland, officially perpetuating the negative reputation amongst Rochester NY’s food service professionals.

I went maybe 30/40 minutes before they closed. As soon as I walked in the worked was rushing me to order saying they had too many people in that day and how she was tired and ready to go. I order my food which was was too expensive,$65 for 30 wings and a snack pack. I got my food and went home. My chicken was not cooked fully it was so soft and gooey,I had to put it in the oven to finish. My baked bean were dead cold and I live about 5 minutes away. Was just an all around disappointing expensive experience.
