Excellent food and cooked to perfection. This place is hidden and has excellent outside seating area. The view over the lake was spectacular. The only thing that was not up to our expectations was the baked stuffed haddock with lobster stuffing. Very little stuffing, otherwise it was tasty. Deserts are huge and very yummy.

I’ve been hearing for years about how amazing this place is and how I simply have to go here. I wish I had listened sooner. I vacation here every year but it’s hard to fit everything into one week. I will never skip the Ledges again though after my wonderful dinner last night. What an experience! Many of my friends spend their Anniversaries here and I completely understand the mystique now. The view of Newfound Lake from the Ledges Steakhouse is simply extraordinary, especially as the sun is setting. The establishment itself is simply adorable. It is so tastefully decorated and landscaped. You can tell the owners take a great deal of pride of ownership and it comes across in the quality of the food too. The staff was amazing and attentive even though they were incredibly busy. But the real reason for the 5-star rating (I’d give 10 stars if I could), is simply the food itself. I have frequented many steakhouses over the years, and I can say with all honesty that this was the best steak I have ever had. It’s often that you find the most incredible food off the beaten path and this place is no exception. It is in a small town not really known for its culinary establishments and it’s hidden up the side of a hill. In my opinion, those are the best finds, and this was the perfect example of a hidden gem. Don’t miss out on the Ledges because you are denying yourself one of the best culinary delicacies in the entire Lakes Region of NH … and don’t even get me started on those delectable desserts!

My family had a poor experience dining here. Although the food was mostly good it is very overpriced for the quality. My family waited 2 hours for our food. We were told there would be a little delay. However 2 hours for a wait is unacceptable and the wait staff seemed to think this was normal. We would have appreciated honesty from management that the kitchen was this backed up so we could have gone elsewhere for dinner. Several other groups dining that night were also left waiting and upset. The management and staff showed little apology for this and this is not the type of dining experience we expect when paying such high prices for dinner. We would come here for special occasions but unfortunately we will not be coming back anymore. It’s unfortunate to leave an expensive dinner so disappointed.

Ledge Water is without a doubt the nicest steak house in the Lakes Region (better than The New Woodshed – not even close), and it has the best views of any of the nicer dining establishments. The staff is great, very kind, not snooty at all. I had the lamb, my wife had the stuffed shrimp. One of our guests had the Lion’s Mane mushroom – everything was great. The salads were tasty; lettuce wedge and Caesar. They were gluten free (“gf”) aware and there were great options. The desserts are w Enormous. Like the size of pizzas. Giant, good looking cakes (no GF option, hey it happens).

It’s very much a quintessentially New England steakhouse: perfect balance of environment, food is always exactly how you ordered it, and the staff are down to earth/pleasant. Highly recommend, and I only ate the sides (vegan) as a meal. My entire party enjoyed our visit!

I attempted to keep this between management and our party but I have yet to receive a reply to my private message. This was our 4th year back at Ledge Water as we always enjoy the food, atmosphere and the view. Even though last year’s experience was not as good as the first two we decided this year we would go for my husband’s birthday, give a second chance, and bring our 14 year old daughter to make it a family celebration. Everything was going ok, service was a bit slow but tolerable. The weather wasn’t suppose to be great but we lucked out with mostly clear skies and a gorgeous sunset. However the night quickly took a turn for the worst. The second round of drinks came and the waitress attempted to balance the tray rather than using the empty table next to us as she did with the first round. A full glass of red wine landed on my daughter’s arm covered her white shirt, light blue pants and white shoes in red wine and shattered at her feet. Although the waitress apologized I had to proceed to ask for club soda to help avoid staining. The waitress got us club soda but was also more concerned about cleaning up the glass as not one of her coworkers assisted her. My daughter now soaked, a bit chilly and upset asked if they had shirts available so she didn’t have to sit throughout the rest of dinner freezing in wet clothes. We followed the waitress inside and were told that the only shirts available were on the wall as the office was locked and if we found one we liked to just take it down, she wanted ME the customer to use a chair to take the shirt off the wall that was two sizes too big for my 14 year old that was covered in wine due to HER mistake! In the meantime my friend was working on getting the stains out of my daughter’s shirt in the bathroom all while our food was delivered and getting cold. As we were attempting to make the best of the situation we then received the bill with not a single item comped and not a single offer to pay for the cleaning fees. When we questioned the bill we were told “well we gave her a sweatshirt.” The entire experience was extremely upsetting, a restaurant that I have raved about over the last few years I am not sure I ever want to visit again. We finished our night scrubbing stains out of clothes and shoes my daughter paid for using her own hard earned money, something unheard of now a days in her generation. After all said and done I know mistakes happen but I truly would have expected much more from a quality restaurant like Ledge Water.

We were very excited to eat dinner here. Everyone’s steak was extremely salty and overcooked. Came out extremely messy on the top and bottom of the plates – looked unappetizing. The best part was the view off the deck. We were expecting high quality steak – our group actually had a conversation that we have all cooked a better steak at home from hannafords. After reading reviews, this seems to be a common occurrence that the owners should look into. Wish I could say differently, but we won’t be back.

We went for dinner and sat at the bar. We ordered scallops with bacon app, hand cut filets, baked and mashed potatoes. The food was delicious and prepared perfectly – similar to the best restaurants in Boston. Sitting at the bar provides a beautiful lake view. Brayton provided excellent service and is very friendly and personable. You can tell he enjoys bar tending! The prices were reasonable to a little high. The drinks were delicious, but served in small glasses. They had an incredible dessert menu, that was very tempting, but we were stuffed so we didn’t order a dessert, but will save room next time! Go early, or make reservations.
