The sushi is the best in town. I love Perkins. He is a hard worker and works all by himself but makes sure the orders are done. Waiting isn’t bad because he makes sure to have a conversation with you and have a good laugh He is honestly the coolest person I met in Iowa City. The sushi always taste fresh and is always made right. I always get spicy tuna and the spicy msyo is the best.

Great place ran by the owner himself. Used to live in downtown Iowa city and get a roll or two nearly daily. Now I still grab a roll anytime I commute through the area. This place makes small business owners proud. The unagi is my favorite but I have never had a bad roll here. Prices are amazing for downtown food and service is great.

I come here constantly, and have never been failed to have good food or be greeted with such warmth. I’ve come so often that the owner has taken time to recognize me and know what I usually order. This is my all time favorite sushi place and I’ll never stop coming here for good food, friendly conversation, and a pick me up after a hard day.

I would give more stars if I could! This is easily the BEST sushi establishment in Iowa City. The prices are very reasonable for the great quality. Not only is the food outstanding, but he treats you like more than just a customer, and will talk to you and even remember your name. This is what all food service should be like, not just about getting your money.

Love this small, local sushi bar. Love it’s convenient location in the almost food court-like center of Old Capital Mall located right in the heart of downtown Iowa City. Been coming here for several years. The owner is friendly and takes pride in the work he does. If you’re looking for an intimate dinning experience this may not be your place, but if you’re looking for the best sushi in town you need to check out Sushi Kitchen!

My husband and I stopped for a late lunch and so glad we did! Proprietor/chef was so friendly; was fun to watch him interacting with his regular customers. Food was amazing. I highly recommend the Dynamite Shrimp and the Firecracker Roll! Thanks Perk, we’ll be back!!
