When in Crystal Lake, FORGET Portillo’s! This place has the BEST JUMBO CHILIE-CHEESE HOT DOGS!. Truly amazing! Homemade Spicy Chile fresh everyday, the fattest, juiciest, tastiest Jumbo Hot Dog in a bun ever and then topped off with melted cheese, onion and mustard. To die for! (next to downtown CL Metra Train Station in a tiny trailer no less.) Very large proportion too. It started out as a popcorn place years ago. New owner since.

Pop’s Corn Crib’s chili cheese dogs are absolute perfection. Hands down the best I’ve ever had and trust me- I’ve had a lot of chili cheese dogs. The service there is also spectacular, I’m always greeted by a kind smile and you can tell the food is made with love. Go to Pop’s!!

Fantastic buttered popcorn, fluffy and with real butter. Get the family size like I do. Popcorn balls are great. They make a good Chicago style hot dog. Reasonably priced, always friendly. If it’s fall don’t miss the caramel apples, they are outstanding!

Excellent food, and the popcorn is the best! I had their Italian beef with cheese, and it was juicy, tender, and to die for! I don’t like hot peppers, but you can get peppers if you choose! so yum!
