Mario’s Pizza is a local, family-owned restaurant chain serving authentic NY-Style Pizza, Stromboli, calzone, Italian dishes, subs, salads, appetizers, and desserts.
Brothers Vinny, Mario and Tony, are from and grew up in Brooklyn. They’ve always been in the food business. Thanks to their Italian origins they love and know a thing or two about making pizza!

We tried Mario’s for the first time for dinner, and we were neither overly impressed nor extremely disappointed. For apps, we tried the fries and the jalapeno poppers – the fries were very forgettable and didn’t really have a lot of flavor to them, even with seasoning added. The jalapeno poppers were good, but other pizza restaurants in the area definitely have better. The pizza itself was decent, but had some flaws: the cheese had a slightly strange taste to it and the crust was overcooked to the point of tasting burnt in certain bites. For the price – almost 40 bucks for two people – we could have easily gone to a similar restaurant about ten minutes away and had a cheaper and better experience. There were a few other diners who didn’t seem thrilled with their meal, either. While there was nothing egregiously wrong with the meal, the quality and taste simply didn’t fit the price in our opinion.

Visit was on a Thursday evening with friends from a local church. Not busy from a sit down customer standpoint (maybe 3 other dine in tables). Slightly long wait time for food, but well worth the wait. Atmosphere/system was hard to make out order numbers to be clearly heard when announced. This was my first visit to any Mario’s and I signed up for their rewards but forgot to mention to them nor did they ask if I was a participant.

Was hoping it was going to be homemade, NY style…but I really doubt it is. The marina, on top of the sausage appetizer, tasted like plain tomato sauce out of a jar or can, no seasoning. The white pizza was just ok the cheese was cold, absolutely no cheese pull. Disappointed based on my expectations. I will keep trying to find NY style crust in NC

I now have received pizzas with burned bottom crusts 3 out if the last 5 times I ordered from this Marios. I believe it is because they do not properly keep the ash cleaned out of the ovens, as the top edges are not overcooked at all. I am tired of spending $20+ to eat the toppings only, a bit scarce to be honest, off their pizza. It is excellent pizza when you are lucky enough to get it cooked properly. Unfortunately that is a crapshot. I will try the Paladium location. If that is no better, Sir Pizza will get all rather than part of my pizza business. I also notice in reading reviews that the manager only responds to the good reviews. I take that to mean they are not overly concerned if you have a bad or multiple bad experiences.

My brother suggested we go here. He said he’s been here many times. I ordered 2 pepperoni and bacon pizza slices. He got 2 slices of sausage. It was so good! I was really shocked at the sizes of the slices, they were huge! I will be back!

I frequent Mario’s minimum twice a week. That all stops today. Ordered two pepperoni slices for my kid and go back to my car and wait. I go back in and they gave my pizza to someone else even after showing my receipt. Very insulting and the cashier just turned her head. They were hesitant to hand over the two slices, while looking over at the people they gave the order to. Not that me, no longer going to this location will make a difference to their pockets but who wants to steal two slices when I spend much more on a weekly basis..? Someone might but not me. Hopefully they think again or maybe start checking orders when calling out numbers. And usually I never get a printed receipt but today I did, not that it made a difference.

I ordered 2 slices of white pizza and they gave me 2 regular slices with some sort of white ricotta (?) sauce squirted on top. When I inquired they said this is what I ordered, but I guess they don’t know that bianco means white in Italian. . The cheese was old and the red sauce had no flavor, and whatever the topping sauce was, it didn’t taste like ricotta. Not going back, this tasted terrible, and their customer service is terrible.

Awesome pizza. I love this kind of pizza. It’s thin, but it has that NY kind of taste. Not to mention my slice was HUGE. See the pic? That’s just a portion of my slice I cut off for my GF because the whole piece was so big! Everything about it tasted good, even the crust. It was a bit too salty, but maybe that was an anomoly (it was my first time here). Big, clean, bright atmosphere inside.
