We just went to Maru Sushi and Grill for the very first time on 1/28/23! We were greeted warmly and seated at a table very quickly. The atmosphere was very warm and relaxing. We ordered drinks and an appetizer and they all arrived to our table in a nice timely manner! We had menu questions and our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and answered all of our questions very well! We each made an order of sushi and soon the wonderful food arrived…it was so delicious and such a great combination of flavors! We will become regulars for sure!!!! The SUSHI WAS SUPER FRESH and SO YUMMY!!!!

We came in for lunch time. We had amazing service by Zach! We have been in Florida visiting for 4 days now and every restaurant we have been too the service has been far less than adequate EXCEPT here! Food was delicious and came out quick! We will be back for sure!

My first impression upon walking in for lunch is that this strip mall location needs some repairs. The ceiling was visibly stained and leaking and the space looked like it could use a deep clean.

My mom and I went for sushi for lunch – we both ate the same roll smoked salmon – and I got food poisoning and my mom wasn’t as sick as I was but didn’t feel well. I called the restaurant 24 hours later just to inform them that I was sick and to please refund us just the sushi which was around $30- not only did he refuse he asked me to go to the hospital to prove that it was their food that actually got me sick- impossible to do regardless if I went last night or today. He told me a whole investigation would have to be done I have to prove it and he would also play the cameras to make sure there was no foul play which shocked me since I didn’t even bring that up- he again stated he’s not going to refund me and I have to prove it. Bad management bad sushi and I will be calling the health dept. would never eat or recommend this place, I looked at their health scores and they have cross contaminated their food several times

The Japanese & Korean sushi & grill restaurant you may not know about is fairly priced & has great food! Right in the Booksamillion plaza next to Sanford Mall, head into plaza, turn left and it’s at the end. It’s a small intimate restaurant with servers that are attentive & friendly. I’ve been here twice, my daughter has been here many times with friends, never had any problems or complaints. Be mindful of the hours open, they do close after lunch and reopen for dinner.

We were greater upon entering, and the waiter (Hosea)was very informative and willing to make suggestions as well as explaining the menu to us, considering it was our first visit there. He was very attentive to us, and that made for a pleasant visit. The next time we’re in this city, we will be returning.
