Great place to stop by for a bite to eat on our way to Oregon. Everything we got off the menu was exquisite — it really is what they claim: “where the west meets the south to create a delicious taste in your mouth.” Don’t quote me on that. The veggie burger was great, especially with some Louisiana hot sauce, we also got some wings for appetizer and the kids size mac and cheese (both of which were also delicious, especially with the General Tso’s sauce). The grilled cheese was as good as they come.

Really good fried food! I had a fried chicken sandwich and the meat was super moist and tasty, although in my opinion, it was a bit under-seasoned. The fries were like real thick curly fries and delicious. Service was good.

The haystack hashbrowns were fantastic. The Belgian waffle was good as well. Very fairly priced. I will need to go back for dinner sometime.

I haven’t given a 5-star rating in a long, long time. If I could I would give this place 6.

If you happen to find yourself in this small town, do yourself a favor and eat here. Food is DELICIOUS. Literally the BEST mashed potatoes I have ever had. My husband got their chicken tenders and the breading was delicious and the chicken was real breast meat and super moist. Ypu get HUGE portions. The Cajan Mac n Cheese hit the spot too. The staff is super friendly. You feel like you are eating dinner at a friend’s house. A friend that can cook some serious comfort food!

Though it’s now The Reboot of the Funky Kitchen you’re met with the quality they had prior. I had their blackened rock fish special one Friday night. Props for their having a Friday fish spec for us who don’t eat red meat on Friday. I found the fish a bit overboard on the seasoning including salt. It’s saving grace was the somewhat bland white rice and Hoppin’ John style black eyed peas as sides that were complimentary for the fish, which by the way, was cooked to perfection. It wasn’t at all over cooked, perfectly opaque, and flaked beautifully. Even my dog enjoyed sharing my plate with me and he’s a picky SOB! The loss of a star was only for the over-seasoning of the fish. I figure touting Southern fare and with Southerners having more smokers among them, they don’t have the same palate as a non smoker, thus requiring more seasoning to heighten their culinary senses.
