Nelson’s landing is well worth the drive we had heard they have the best chicken fried steak in the state of Kansas so we made a trip to try it out and it did not disappoint. The chicken fried steak includes a fresh side salad, a roll with yummy cinnamon butter and 2 veggies all of which were great the chicken fried steak is the biggest I have ever seen, made fresh with the perfect combination of steak and breading topped with gravy. The waitress was quick, friendly and helpful the restaurant itself is clean and comfortable and you just can’t beat their prices. If you like chicken fried steak make the trip to Leonardville Kansas you will not be sorry.

Great place to eat! They always have wonderful food, decent price & huge portions. The staff has always been very positive and friendly. Great atmosphere & there’s a separate area to eat with your kids so they aren’t around the bar area, if you want. Also, they have a great website and take call-in to go orders! This is great after watching your son’s football game and not wanting to cook!

Great service, and food was wonderful. Chicken Fried Steak is much larger than the menu says, and perfect. Burgers are well seasoned and prepared, and the kids menu was a hit for all four kids in our group. Everyone left happy and (very) full.

EXCELLENT service and great home cooking grub! This place was fantastic all the way around. Chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak hand pounded, breaded and fried to a perfect crust without being greasy at all. Sides were fine and fried corn was tasty too. The waitress was out of this world good. Friendly, attentive without being overly attentive, funny and sweet all in one! Met the owner too and what she and her family do for people is so special. Fund raisers going on right now for people in the area with cancer. This is a hidden treasure!

You’ll hear about the chicken fried steak, and it is amazing. However, let me tell you about their mushroom Swiss burger. So many delicious mushrooms! One of the best, not slimy, full of flavor. Pair it with a cold beer and enjoy! I needed to get a to go order to take home for the husband. They waited to put it in so it was still warm when I left, held it at the front for me so it wasn’t in the way at the table, and had it packed well so it wasn’t messy or cold when I got home.

The food was AMAZING and exceptionally priced ( GREAT burger and fries for less than $15!?) Definitely well worth the 30 minute drive (I had been staying in Manhattan for work). The waitress was super friendly and attentive, the hostess was really welcoming, the decor was impressive and I really enjoyed that one section of the restaurant was dedicated to local athletes. I highly recommend!

We met another couple to celebrate a birthday. Our waitress was excellent as was the meal. The menu provides plenty of choices! I would suggest the chicken fried steak if you are running on an empty stomach. Nelson’s Landing is just a great place for food and fun.
