Amazing food. The experience is unique. There’s only one chef in the customer facing kitchen, and the chef does everything in front of you, from prepping the ingredients to final assembly. Chef Yamamoto is the most well rounded Japanese chef I’ve witnessed. Everything he does in the kitchen are done with top tier skills.

Special place for special occasions. Yama-san is truly a master at his craft. The menu will vary depending on season, availability, and most importantly, what he feels is needed for his audience that night. The staff and service are top notch. Bring a bottle of your favorite wine to enjoy.

Very very special & delicious omakase. The chef is Japanese but the flavoring is very diverse & more like fusion style. Ex. he would use lots of truffles & caviar in the courses, which is rare in traditional Japanese course. Besides the flavoring, the size of each course is bigger than usual Japanese course too. The service is great and chef is also quite friendly, we will definitely revisit in the future.

The best I can say is that for the money it gives you a lot of quantity; there’s a lot of foods w/ expensive ingredients and I suppose you get a lot for the money you spend (which is a lot), but it feels like it’s just quantity over taste. The food feels unrefined and not well thought out, almost like a Chinese chef decided to implement a Japanese prix fixe that’s supposed to have a lot of expensive ingredients with an eye to impress rather than delight. A huge bowl of truffles flakes, yep… I guess that’s supposed to taste good? There was certainly a lot of quantity, but not much that impressed in terms of taste. My mom and I were very disappointed by the meal.

Super delicious Japanese Omakase! Definitely a feast of premium seafoods from Japan and chef’s genuine recipes from traditional sushi to creative combinations. The quantity is also very impressive that I couldn’t finish all the dishes. Strongly suggest eat nothing since morning prior to your reservation. Ideally, no food since the night before. Otherwise, you would not enjoy the taste of each every dish they served.

Uncrowned king, the ingredients are sufficient, but it is easy to lose the original taste. I like the recommended wine very much, it is very good, it is a restaurant that will come back again

Higher end omakase restaurant. Food was nothing short of amazing! With the higher price tag, you’re also paying for a unique experience.

BYOB, but wine only. Makes for a perfect dish when you can pair your favorite wines to an fantastically prepared dinner. I enjoyed the meal, however I should note that the dinner is not for everyone. I took a good friend to the establishment who had never had any exposure to sushi besides tempura rolls; and, he was not a fan. I believe every sushi lover living in Los Angeles should come here at least once. The experience is one in a lifetime. Very few places can offer 18+ dishes and leave you in awe. It seems like we had every dish possible from the pacific ocean.
