They make some a really great old fashioned here. It was small inside, but I had no issues getting a table on a Sunday evening. We started with the fried goat cheese balls, and they were decent, but I’m not sure I’d try them again. We also tried the French onion soup, which was great. The Tavern burger and margarita pizza were both excellent. The hot sausage was good, but nothing to write home about. We would stop back in on our next trip.

A party of 5 of us went 7/9/23 and it was one of the best dining experiences we have had. The food was cooked perfectly and everything was absolutely delicious. We ordered many items with a lot of special requests like no cheese, sauce on the side, etc. and everything arrived just as we asked for it! Out server was amazing – I did not write down a name but they had colorful hair and glasses – so impressed! Highly recommend Forbes Tavern.

We recently had dinner late on a Sunday evening at the Forbes Tavern. We had never been there before. The atmosphere was cozy. There was one other table with two guys in the whole place. We were starving, and quickly overlooked the fact that every table appeared dirty. Not terribly dirty, just dirty.

Nice little bar to tuck into… The steak frites say they’re served with chimichurri but they’re not. I even asked the waitress and she took it back to the kitchen… Came back and said she watched the chef put more on… But there absolutely was none. I suspect they don’t know what it is… Nevertheless, the Brussels sprouts were great, the fries were good, and the steak was fine. Good beer too.

Food was good. Bartender doesn’t have the backbone to cut off customers. Created a bad situation with an intoxicated guest. No one deserves to be a bartender if they can’t control the room.

Great place to grab drinks after work or before going to North Shore for a game. I’ve come here with friends and colleagues and typically get a table immediately + service is quick as well. Beer list is mid-size and diverse but I wish they carried ciders. Can’t opine on the food but it looked pretty good when I glanced at other tables the last time I was there.
