I want to give an honest review of the restaurant. The food was undeniably delicious, full of flavor and executed with skill. The male host/waiter was polite and very nice. The food came out in a normal time frame. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala. The portions were quite small for the price point. There were only maybe 4oz of cubed pieces of chicken! Thats not enough… really. Despite this small critique, I still recommend trying out their cuisine.

We were strolling La Jolla enjoying the wonderful weather after we watched the seals and sea lions.

This location is right in the area of many other choices. The restaurant has a patio area and an indoor dining space. The outdoor tables are stained but outdoor space is bound to have its drawbacks.

Super excited to have found this restaurant just minutes away from my hotel in La Jolla. Such a charming location, but just got a huge dose of disappointment in terms of food and the way this place is managed. Really feel bad leaving this kind of review but had no choice. Dear “ Taste of the Himalayas” management team, please consider giving some Nepalese/Himalayan hospitality to the customers. I could see and clearly hear the customers complaining about service and food in Hindi while I waited for my Momos! To be honest, Mixed Momos were pretty average for the price and Dal soup was just watery at its best. This place could be a gem in making if managed properly! At this point it’s just a disappointment!

In close proximity to La Jolla Cove, there exists a charming and petite Nepali/Indian eatery that presents a delectable selection of culinary delights. The service provided at this establishment is both expeditious and satisfactory, ensuring a pleasant dining experience for its patrons.

Each item is expertly cooked to order! Dining at Taste of The Himalayas was a unique and tasty treat! The owner Savant and partner Melissa were stellar, working side by side to insure the best dining experience for every guest attending during my visit there. Staffing was short, however for the quality of the food it is a MUST visit for anyone who appreciates authentic Himalayan and vegan dishes. I was immersed with the scents of Himalayan/Tibetan spices and a friendly, homelike feel that set me immediately at ease. The outside of the restaurant has the appearance of an organic family based business. The personal attention given to each diner was quite impressive as the pair, along with a bevy of cooks in the kitchen , hustled to fill “to go” and “online orders” but not too busy to see to the needs of the in-house and outside guests.

Tried this place for the first time for lunch with family who were visiting from out of town. Came in about 1:30 PM on a Wednesday and the food was delicious and hot. Extensive menu and nothing disappointed us. The only reason why this is a four star review and not a five star review is because of the service. We got our appetizer a little bit late then the tikka plate with nothing else. Had to wait another 15 minutes for rice and the chicken tikka masala as well as the garlic naan. By that time my chicken tikka was cold. There was only one server and three tables that were being used by customers. Our server never bothered to ask us how our food was or if we needed anything to drink. So Service definitely needs improvement and some hospitality training by management. I would definitely go back though and make sure to ask for everything at once and don’t be hesitant to flag down the server knowing that she will not be as attentive unless you ask for it. I am pretty sure that they did not mean to bring out our food as slowly as they did.

Great restaurant! Loved the butter chicken and vindaloo! A bit of a wait, but absolutely worth it. Very pleasant young dude served us and advised the level.of spiciness which was perfect!

Food was so good and fresh and perfect spice level as requested (3 for mild and 8 for spicy for us). We got Chana masala, palak paneer, and mango lassi and it hit the spot and had leftovers to spare.
