Arnave was a great help, this was my first time trying Indian food so I had no clue what to expect. I personally wasn’t a big fan, but nothing was nasty. I just wasn’t impressed by the taste of anything at all. We tried the mango lassi smoothie, I had shrimp lunch special , my daughter had the chicken Marsala lunch special , and we received watery rice pudding for dessert. The smoothie was filling, not very cold or refreshing, but again this was my first time so I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t like the bathroom Or the fact that you had to go down a hallway in the attached building. The lentils and spinach and chick peas that came with the meals were fine. Shrimp tasted fine and my daughter liked her chicken. I would not try Indian food again.

Great spot for a date night. We had 2 apps, 2 drinks, and shared an entree. For apps it was Masala Calamari which was uniquely delicious, not fried in batter but sauteed in a beautiful blend of Indian spices. Also had the Malai Fish Tikka and it was very moist and delicious, buttery with a hint of yogurt.

Very pleasant ambience. We tried tandoori trio and chicken makhani. Both very tasty. Food is not greasy like typical Indian restaurants but very flavorful.

Here’s a place where you can find the tastiest and most drool worthy restaurant (literally drooling thinking about the food I ate here as I write this). I say this after tasting numerous Indian restaurants in NJ and New York.

Went there for lunch, we had much higher expectations from this place but the paneer curry tasted like tomato purée. We ordered few other items too which were decent.

My mom and I were looking for a quick place for lunch and happened upon Jalwa. We looked at the menu and peeked in: busy at lunch hour but an open table! VK Verma stepped out and warmly invited us in. What a great decision. I had the palak paneer lunch special and Mom had the chicken tandoori lunch special ($15 each). I also had the mango lassi–delicious and the right amount of sweetness. The portions are perfect, and all lunches come with a vegetable of the day, dal, basmati rice, roti or naan and dessert! The food was very fresh and tasty. Rasmalai for dessert on Tuesday and Kheer today. Yes, we have already been twice. I have found my favorite Indian restaurant in NJ! P.S. Very accommodating for Gluten Free Eaters. Celiacs and Gluten-Sensitive folks, rejoice! Very easy parking nearby.

We ordered take out (Paneer Tikka and Veg biryani). Biryani was okay but Paneer tikka was awful. Paneer tikka was not grilled at all (you can see the pictures that there are no marks of it being grilled). It was just marinated, may be heated for a min and sent to us..the marination was still wet. Plus there is oil. I have never ever seen oil floating in paneer tikka. The whole point of paneer tikka is marinated and grilled paneer and veggies. Dip was gross and watered down to the point it tasted like grass in water..I do not understand how this restaurant has such high ratings.

Went there for dinner/ take out after collecting my car from service. Man, it was sooo good. Don’t expect the typical taste dishes. They have goat, lamb and more. The even offer BYOB and there is a wine shop next door . I had Naan, goat, and more. Unfortunately, can’t remember the nest but I do remember each dish was excellent. Staff was very polite and helpful with choosing the right dish.

Dined here on Valentine’s night based on the great reviews. They offered a pre fixe menu at $65pp but I’m pretty sure I was told $55pp when making the reservation. Food had some highlights and some items seemed pre bought. One chosen appetizer was a chicken dumpling with pineapple which turned out to be chicken pineapple meatballs, drizzled with a mayo based dressing and did not have an Indian flavor, neither was it a dumpling. The other appetizer of assorted chicken kabob was very good, fresh and in-house made but arrived about 20 mins after the other appetizer. The entrees were decent and the desserts were good. The bread seemed store bought and the 2 rolls of papadum at the start of the meal did not work well as it fell apart as you unrolled it. Some tea after the meal would have been nice. I gave 4 stars as I’d probably go back to try the regular menu to see if it deserves 5 stars.
