Staff were very friendly and helpful, BUT they are definitely understaffed. Foods were served in an extremely slow pace – my appetizer was actually served after main entree because apparently no one was able to work on it until the last minute. Ramen was ok, soup base was definitely made from concentrated paste/powder, noodles was little bit harder than I expected, wish they offer an option for longer boiling time/softer textured noodles.

Ordered delivery and food was well packaged and arrived tasting fresh! I chose spicy level 2 broth, which had enough kick for me to make the ramen enjoyable without being too overpowering. The Takoyaki was crispy/soft and had a generous serving of toppings. Definitely would recommend.

Service seems rather poor. We stood at the front for at least ten minutes without being acknowledged by a waiter. There was only one table occupied, so there is no excuse. So we then decided to order takeout from the kiosk instead.

My husband and I loved the food. The ramen was delicious. We cook ramen at home all the time and felt like this was comparable for taste and amount of food. The ramen was full of flavor and creamy. I got level 3 spice and definitely felt the heat and I’m a spice lover. My husband got level 4 and he loved it! our sever must have been a high schooler or just young. We felt like he didn’t want to be there and didn’t care to provide quality service. We probably would have explored the menu more. Overall we recommend this place because it was good ramen at a decent price.

Food was served quickly after ordering! We ordered the kaarage chicken (10/10 – very crispy with a lot of flavor and paired with a great sauce), rock shrimp (7/10 – not very flavorful), spicy tori chicken ramen (10/10 – very flavorful, I love spicy food and ordered spice level 2 and thought it was pretty spicy!)

I heard about this new ramen place close to the UIUC campus, so I decided to give it a try. We tried most of the appetizers (takoyaki, karage chicken, pork gyoza, rock shrimp, and fried calamari) and liked them all. The pork gyoza was especially delicious (we learned that it was made by hand there). The karage chicken was moist and perfectly breaded. As for the main course, we had the tanaka rich garlic, wonton tori, pork cutlet rice bowl, and curry rice bowl. The star of the tanaka rich garlic was the pork chashu with it being tender and pretty much melt-in-your-mouth. The broth in the wonton tori was creamy, and the thin noodles were right up my alley. The pork cutlet was juicy throughout. The curry was flavorful without being overpowering. I think the price you pay is more than fair, considering the quality and quantity of the food you get. The place was very clean and well-kept, and everyone working there was attentive and friendly, not to mention the fast service. They even had a robot to deliver your food! This is the place to go if you’re a fan of ramen and want some great food. We will definitely be returning.

I been to some ramen establishments some in Champaign, mostly in Chicago. Some of which was either the broth was too salty, not enough spice or the noodles weren’t cooked long enough. My girlfriend and I tried this new establishment and honestly it was one of the best places we had went to in a long time. The appitizer like the kaarage chicken had the perfect crisp and THE most tangy sauce we have ever tasted. Next thing I had ordered was the Tanaka classic, which the broth had a nice soothing texture in the broth and the pork was nice and tenderized like it could melt in your mouth. The noodles were also cooked to perfection!! The spice levels they also had was also very shocking since some places spice levels were disappointing, but this one blew our minds becuase we couldnt get get past level 3. Afterwards we ordered extra food to go, we were given some complimentary mochi ice cream for our wait!! So if your ever in the neighborhood and need a place to relax, eat something after a long day at work/school, or even in the mood for some ramen, this is the place to go!! It was such a quiet and relaxing setting, and were were even served with a robot!! Normally we go to Oozu Ramen, but we for sure will come back to this establishment with more smiles on our faces!! Shoutout to our server Danny, who made all our experience the most enjoyable and relaxing!! Great customer service!!

This new ramen spot is the best in CU area. The noodles quality is good and so is the soup base. Would be nice to have slightly more noodles and add bamboo shoot for toppings. The karate chicken is crispy and juicy as well. Highly recommend!

My wife and I ate here for a late lunch. I had a spicy Tanaka and my wife had the Tanaka combo. We both enjoyed the dishes very much. The only problem was my beard kept getting into the sauce of the noodles, but my wife used her hair tie to help keep my beard contained and I didn’t have any more problems. you can see in the picture provided.
