Came here for takeout breakfast and I was so impressed! The egg biscuit was so soft and the hash browns were so good. What was even more impressive was the customer service and care! I can tell there is so much history and love in this diner.

What an awesome hometown experience! We drove through this town and decided to stop for lunch. The employees were so sweet. It was NOT fancy but it was fun. I gotta say the restroom did give me a laugh. It said it was clean and it was ish? We got the cheeseburger fries and a drink. For two people the lunch was less than $20.

I had the pork chop with potato salad and steamed cabbage. Everything was hot and tasty and nicely seasoned. Service was very good and very friendly. Enjoyed the meal immensely.

We were passing thru and found Rufus’ on a Google search and had to stop cuz of the name. Arrived 30 mins before they closed for lunch and were worried it was too late to eat. Thankfully the girl at the register smiled and told us to sit wherever we liked. I ordered the BBQ sandwich and my husband ordered the BBQ plate. The BBQ was good but seemed to be missing something. What that something was I couldn’t tell ya but that’s the impression I got. We both ordered pie for dessert, Pecan and the Chocolate mud pie. Both slices were delicious. I loved the decor (even though I’m a devout Coca-Cola girl) and the small-town feel of this place, just really wish the BBQ would’ve been better. And even though we were there so close to closing, service was great and not once did we feel like they were rushing us to get up and leave. ❤

We arrived here a few minutes before closing, ate fairly quickly, my friend had 2 bites left and scrubby guy comes outta the back to ask my friend if he needed a box. My friend said no, he only had a couple bites left. So then scabby guy from kitchen tells us they close at 2, they wanna leave, then asked me where I work so he can come to my job and keep me after closing.

Like Brownie Lu’s, great home town country place to eat. The Rufus Burger is outstanding. The people who work there are very loving a nice. This resteraunt to me is what makes Goldston a good place to eat. It’s a landmark, historic, if you ask me.
