I’ve been to Southern market before and absolutely adore Butter and Bean. They are sweet, very friendly and very sensitive about people’s allergies. And their coffee and other drinks and goodies are amazing. I had the day off, so I was able to go to lunch. And I had the best Soul Food I’ve had since I was in Memphis and Arkansas at X MARKS THE SPOT in the food court. Absolutely perfect greens and hush puppies and the fish was incredible. They are friendly and professional, and will set you up right!

The presentation is everything. I’ve had this vegan salad twice visiting PA. It is very fresh, delicious and somtimes to pretty to eat. Its something about getting to the bottom of the bowl, where there is rice covered in a sweet eel sauce. Yummy, Yum, Yum!!

I need to start doing more of my business lunches here. There are about 10 VERY different and not at all Lancaster county food vendors. Each of them express an ethnic specialty. Limited menu to be sure, but every item is spot on. Think “food truck” but much cleaner. The bar in the center has all your libation needs. If you are lucky Jen will be working she is a wealth of knowledge and a great conversationalist.

Southern Market is a sight to behold. This 7,500 square foot space just recently celebrated its one year anniversary in Early 2023 It features 12 different food stands from Southern food, Japanese, Latin, Moroccan, Middle Eastern, pizza and cafes that forms in a circle around Bar 1888, which seats over 30 people. It’s cool to see people enjoying food and drinks while playing board games or cards. Just a really awesome to hang with family or friends. We got food from Flavors of Morocco and X Marks The Spot. Both places gave us an immense amount of food for a cheap price.

This place is GREAT! My husband and I ate Moroccan for the first time and it was delicious. The atmosphere and the people…the stand owners AND the patrons were wonderful. I LOVE the diversity that this place celebrates!! We will be coming back to try a lot of other things.

A nice addition to the Lancaster downtown. A twist to what we think of a conventional market there are food stalls with different offerings, a coffee bar, and a large central bar in the center.

We decided to try Southern Market Lancaster today. It’s a very clean and welcoming environment with a bunch of different food options. We got to try Pizza, Sushi, Moroccan and Latin food all in one place and they were all amazing! Check it out, you won’t be disappointed.
