Pleasant surprise! Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday and place was empty. But food & service exceeded expectations. Very friendly and accommodating. Full menu with lots of variety. Excited to find vegetarian options too. Full service bar with good selection of beers both bottle and on tap. Will be stopping in again in the future.

Great space inside, beautifully designed. Restaurant and bar in the front with grand windows and interesting belt fans. Terraced patio in the back with grass that doubles as a music venue. Bar with billiards in the back nicely lit. The food was purdy good.

Their smoked salmon and chips dish exceeded my expectations. Never had fried salmon before until now. Loved every single bite of it! Very delicious. Better than fried cod, actually. We ordered fried pickles as an appetizer and scarfed them down real fast. Also very delicious. Service was wonderful and our waitress was really friendly. Bar room had a cozy atmosphere and the pool tables were a nice distraction while we waited for our meals. The ambient music was enjoyable and added a relaxing feel to the restaurant. Our visit composed of hits from Pink Floyd, Stealers Wheel, Elton John, and Queen. Definitely would recommend if you’re looking for a quick bite while driving through Crawford, Colorado. Overall, we had a very positive experience at The Old Mad Dog Cafe!

This place could be great if the cook seemed to care about his customers. a little bit of quality control can go a long way. Quit skimping on portions and add a little love. We love the patio and music and we want our town to thrive. There is room for improvement. Keep it up.

This place is very nicely decorated and has a very nice atmosphere. The server was very accommodating and was very knowledgeable of the history of the restaurant and the Crawford area. I had a bacon cheeseburger that was very good and well seasoned. The french fries were fresh made and very flavorful. Very enjoyable experience.

I ordered the Cuban sandwich with the onion rings. I will say that i am glad I ordered the onion rings, if I had not, the meal would have been a complete waste. The Cuban was supposed to have ham and pulled pork. The ham seemed to be nothing more than a couple of bacon bits, the pork was more like jerky as I could not chew through it and had to take it off the sandwich completely, it seemed as though it had been in the cooker for way longer than it was supposed to. There was not much left on the sandwich to eat but the mustard, and relish sized pickles. I was pretty upset that they would serve something of that quality and wondered if a 2 year old made the sandwich. No one at my table was happy with their food but we did not talk to the server about the lacking quality because there were others in the restaurant at the time also complaining about the food not even being hot. I would not go there again, I am quite upset with the food quality they tried to pass off as edible. Unhappy visit on 9/30/18

Had out of town company who wanted to see Joe Cocker’s former place. Went on a weekend afternoon and we were the only customers. It was so sad. The place is getting rather run down though there are still remnants of former glory. The menu is redacted with black markouts of things not served anymore. They were out of many of the items on the menu. My friend sent back nachos. The chips were inedible, hard rubber, foul tasting material. The waitress assured us they had been made Thursday. It was now Saturday. The kids did like the noodles. I hope my experience was unique but I doubt it

Husband and I went in and were ready to enjoy a steak $20 + (him) & Smoked Salmon $15+ dinner. What was brought to our table was poor quality & not worth the price we were more than willing to pay. I was not even I.D when I ordered a glass of wine! I suppose it was due to the waitress’s being too busy gossiping about other employees. Totally unprofessional!

If you are looking for a nice quaint out of the way place to have a nice quiet dinner then this place is for you. We had a couple nice ribeyes with an appetizer, drinks and dessert and we still only spent $90 including a nice tip. Steaks were very tasty and done just right. We drove all the way from Grand Junction (90 minutes) just for fun and we will be back! The quiet atmosphere sure beats the shoulder to shoulder people and noise at all the restaurants in GJ.

Good: The best chile relleno that I have had in a long time, perfectly cooked inside and crispy outside, not the slightest bit greasy. Smothered in a really good, zippy green chile. Others enjoyed their burgers which were actually cooked as ordered, and what appeared to be fresh cut fries.
