Overall, we had a good time. There were a couple issues, but nothing that would prevent us from returning. They were out of tomatoes, mushrooms, and sweet tea; none of which I expect in a sports bar-like environment. The margaritas we had were delicious and spicy, just like they were described. The bartender did a fantastic job of taking care of almost 20 guests between the bar and tables. We’ll definitely be back.

If I could give this 10 stars I would. I don’t give reviews often, but felt I had to! We had a party of about 25 coming back from a baseball game. Farrin (spelling?) was the only bartender/waitress working. She was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! She let us rearrange tables. She knew exactly how to take our orders by boys’ numbers, she was fast, attentive, kind, and everything was accurate. Food came out amazingly quick for having such a big party and no staff. The locals at the bar were so nice, giving us recommendations, having conversations with us. Food was good but service was even better. Great (and numerous) selection of beers on tap! I can’t say how happy we are that we found this place! And to the owner – you struck gold with Farrin!

Recently my family and I stopped by for dinner while we were visiting. My family lives in downtown Cartersville and had been to Modern Sports a couple weeks prior to our evening and said they enjoyed it. This particular evening was totally different than their prior experience. Jamie was our server and to say she gave us the worst service would even be an understatement. We sat for at least ten minutes before she even took our drink order, but that’s not the bad part. While we were eating our appetizers we ran out of drinks. Four out of 7 people didn’t have anything to drink at all. Our food came and she still did not give us refills. I took our cups up to the bar as she was filling cups and asked to have a refill and she yelled at me that she had other customers to take care of. I explained we had been sitting there for 45 minutes with no refill, our food was halfway eaten (which my daughter was eating hot wings with no drink), and she continued to yell at me. She kept on even as she was taking food orders from another table. As a former server myself, she neglected us and was way out of line. I will never step foot back into this place and I will warn everyone I know. Worst experience ever.

Kristen and Sabrina at the bar were awesome! Finished a long week of traveling basketball and needed a local spot to take the edge off. Wings were super too. If your stopping through or need that local joint feeling, this is the place!
