Cute little french inspired brunch spot in NE DC. A nice alternative to the craziness of the dc brunch scene. The menu is small but tasty.

Great brunch spot. Came here for my sisters birthday and it did not disappoint. Food was great, and served fast. We got the biscuits and honey butter as an appetizer. It was good but the biscuits are very small. The French Toast was on point, thick, not soggy, with berries and a fresh whipped cream. The potato hash and salmon eggs Benedict also got high marks. Service was fast and friendly, and it wasn’t overly crowded like most DC brunch spots. Will definitely come back.

Fantastic food in a quirky and fun corner restaurant. The cocktail game is strong and the food is really quite something. Go for the French 75, stay for the sharable muscles and people watching. A hidden DC gem.

I was craving a fat burger and Primrose really delivered! Was able to get seated at the bar immediately with just walk in. Highly highly recommend the smash burger and it was a sweet bonus that it came with a salad too. Don’t recommend the orange juice as it tastes like grocery store juice. The decor and ambiance is very, very nice. 20% service fee automatically calculated in total.

The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very pleasing. They have a good mix of meals prepared in-house and lots of good appetizers to get the meal started. They also offer some unique cocktails that go very well with all of the meals. The service was great and we left satisfied with the overall experience.

We celebrated our anniversary in this welcoming restaurant. Everyone was very friendly and the restaurant had a neighborhood vibe but big city menu. We enjoyed a delicious dinner of French onion soup with a fantastic crust and no sogginess, steak and halibut were cooked just right. They also made sure to accommodate my allergies. Dessert was yummy to finish out the meal. Plus they offer a nice variety of tasty wines. Highly recommended and it was so relaxing.

I live across town and will make the journey to come here. It’s been consistently delicious. I especially love when they jazz up the dishes. Like putting nuoc mam in the cauliflower. The scallion pancake with mapo pork sauce was a winner. The green curry mussels were superb. I didn’t love the French onion soup. But probably because it was made with a mushroom broth, which was fine but never gonna be as good as a meat broth. The wine is always good. I don’t go often so always excited to see what new things show up on the menu.

My first experience here was with my 6 year old daughter for brunch… We brought along our 4 year old brindle pitty. Let’s just say I felt as if my babies were as popular with the staff as the food was spectacular to us. And that’s the vibe here! Neighborhood yet haute; familiar yet always something new; Aretha Franklin and Nina Simone. The brunch and dinner menus have something for everyone. The wine cocktails, spirits and beer, while not extensive in quantity are so well matched to the cuisine you are never left wanting. Picky kids to discerning adults will all find something to love. I’m lucky. Primrose is close to me. I hope you’re lucky too! But if you’re not, make the trek. It’ll be your new go too. Enjoy!
