I had the barbecue rib lunch special and I wish I didn’t. They were OK but they were cooked yesterday or the day before taken out of the refrigerator and a bunch of regular barbecue sauce slopped on them and warmed in the microwave. They should’ve been thrown back on the grill and heated up. Nice and hot with a couple small brushes of barbecue sauce so if I wanted more, I could add what I wanted which would be the sweet sauce. It was like a half inch of regular sauce on it. It was so much I was wiping it off and they were NOT hot and crispy and cooked right off the grill. it was like warmed over leftovers. When I left, I noticed there’s no smoke coming out of the smoke stack and that wonderful smell of barbecue cooking so they’re just warming stuff up I guess. Same with the baked beans and the garlic bread, but the coleslaw was super good. If I ever stop here again, it will be for the coleslaw not the ribs. Servers were excellent and the service good.

the food is good, service is great! I know some reviewers are saying the food seemed like it was cooked yesterday or the day before and reheated, well so what if it is. this was once a great restaurant that had lots of customers! if there are no customers you can not cook food fresh, it financially doesn’t make sense. Our experience was good on July 4th. First, they were open which was great for us. We were able to call in our order and within 10 minutes it was ready. The portions were large as compared to other BBQ places close by. The pulled pork was tender, juicy and had not been under a heat lamp. My wife had the turkey on BBQ salad with enough meat for a second meal. Everything was tasty and well deserving of a return trip.

This was my first time trying Woody’s in Palatka, and I was not disappointed. I will say though, they were understaffed, but the one waitress that was working was putting in every ounce of service that she could to keep the customers happy. The cook in the back was trying to do what he could to help also, and they both kept happy positive attitudes. I think everyone should strive to put forth the effort that those two did during my short visit; i ordered take-out and was able to sit near the front and observe everything. I will definitely go back to this location.

If you ordered ahead and you’re only here for pickup, don’t worry. You’re fine. If you decide to go in and have a seat to eat, be ready to stare at the accumulated dust on the ceiling tiles. Service is hit or miss. I’ve had okay service on average. During my last visit, the service was slow. Another member of my party ordered 2 things, chicken wings and a full entree. They were served both meals before my sliced pork sandwich came out. When asked about it, the waitress was pleasant and quickly said it was on its way. It was a little longer, but the food did finally come out. It was unusual compared to previous experiences. After seeing the dust everywhere on the ceiling, I didn’t bother taking anything home. I was already over the experience.
