Don’t let the gas station exterior fool you; El Gordo has excellent food and salsas. It’s one of our favorite breakfast burrito places for carry out, of course.

Birria combo is perfect, delicious, I definitely go back. The place is not the best to eat there but is what you can expect when the food is inside a convenience store. Of course they speak Spanish.

The restaurant is housed within a gas station, but don’t let that discourage you, their food is absolutely delicious, I have not had one dish that I did not like from El Gordo, and the star from them ,for me is their creamy jalapeno salsa, I literally put that on everything that I buy from this restaurant. Definitely check them out. The front desk lady is fine and the environment gives you some Salinas truck stop vibes, but none of that is a negative, the food is authentic tasting and the restaurant is in a gas station, so no lies were told. Make this a place that you go to on Taco Tuesday . Good eats

Great food. I’ve gotten something different every time and have yet to try anything I haven’t liked. So far my favorite is the birria combo. I’m a chef at another restaurant and am picky about where I eat. This place is a go to stop for me on my way home from work. It is inside a gas station so 4 stars for atmosphere. Wish they would add a location in Gilbert or queen creek.

Not that great. I ordered the 2 chicken taco combo that included beans and rice. I was shocked to see my tacos thinner than a quesadilla and had little or no chicken in them. It was like I was eating chips rather than tacos. The beans & rice took no more than 2 spoonfuls to eat. I’ll never go here again. No wonder they work out of a gas station.

Best Mexican Food in the Valley! And the gas station has some of the best snack and drink selections. By far the best one stop dinner and sweets spot! The owner is also so nice!!

Great food, decent prices, generous portions. What more can you ask for? Ordered the street tacos, kid’s quesadulla, and asada torta. The ambiance is a little lacking (in a gas station), but that’s why the prices are pocket book friendlier.

It’s been a few times that we order breakfast carnitas omelets for pick up…. When we get home there are no carnitas!!!!. The omelet is filled with chopped onions.

A small, unusual place with amazing food! If you are searching for good, authentic-like Mexican food then look no further. Food was amazing and service was fast! Despite being inside a gas station and with limited seating, this place is one not to miss!

Honestly this is one of the worse restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. We placed the order online so it was prepaid, went to pick it up 25 minutes later and the store claimed they never received it, it took them 10 minutes to find the order and then another 20 for them to make it, they tried to get us to pay for the food AGAIN, and then when we got home all of our food was messy and dripping with grease like so soggy with oil we could barely eat it. There was no toppings on any of the tacos and the churros were under cooked and had no sugar or cinnamon on the outside. Absolutely horrendous. We will be sticking to Filiberto’s and Los Favs in the future.
