I am so outrageously happy to have this great Chinese buffet in Troy! Food was hot and very fresh; the staff replaced food trays well before anything ran out. It isn’t a massive buffet, but it’s a great selection and I liked everything I tried (teriyaki chicken, Mongolian beef, sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken, fried rice, and wonderful hot and sour soup). Put it this way: I ate everything on the plate in this photo. The cost was $13/person, which I thought was very reasonable. I’m going to have to try not to eat here every day.

First time eating here. I have read reviews some good and some not so good. The food was very bland, not very warm and semi stocked. The Sushi was good. Our server only came by twice. Once to bring us our drinks and last our check. Not once for a drink refill or to see if everything was OK. Service definately needs a training course if your gonna work with the public. Hopefully this will get better, but as for me, with the price you pay and for the food and service received, I don’t believe I’ll be returning, nor recommending to eat here. I hope they adhere to their reviews and try correcting some of the issues and complaints as this could really be a great Buffet. Everyone has their opinions and this is just mine. I hope others that eat here have a much better experience than we had.

I WAS SO UPSET when Golden Crane shut down! They had the only good sushi in the area! But, I really can’t say anything bad since it became Troy’s Buffet! Everything is fresh, delicious and they have great service. Even the cheesecake and mac and cheese are homemade!

My party of four didn’t know what to expect when we went in. The big sign said the restaurant was one thing while the sign on the building itself said another. We were really expecting a Golden Corral type buffet when we walked in, but were pleasantly surprised to see a Chinese buffet.

The customer service is awful here. This is my first time coming to this place and it will be the last. The food is not great, it’s fair. However, for some reason they want the plate to be clean, after you put food on it, like it taste real good or something. The food lack flavor and some of it wasn’t even hot. The unprofessionalism is what gets me, My child got a second plate because he wanted some macaroni cheese, when he had made his first plate there was no macaroni cheese available. He came back with a second plate and the manager yelled at him, for getting it. Now I understand, they don’t want food to be wasted but that should have been handled a whole lot better. I have never experienced anything like that in my life. I’ve been to a lot of buffets and no one does this. I have seen people have 2 plates at the same time too. I never seen a manager say anything though. That’s a child he didn’t know any better and the manager should have said something to the parent first, not the child. Very unprofessional! I will never go back there!

The food was just okay, a bit lacking in flavor, and the service wasn’t great. As we walked in to be seated, someone said they waited 5 minutes for their drinks. Overall, the quality of food wasn’t really worth $13/person and it pales in comparison to Golden Crane. Also, there are barely any labels as to what the food is on the buffet line.

Honestly, the experience was atrocious. The food was disgusting and lacking in flavor. The little dessert cakes were even stale, sadly. If it cost less to eat, the food may be worth it, but for $13/person, it just isn’t worth going. There are places in Troy like Viet’s Pho and Trojan Teriyaki that are actually delicious and worth the price of the food, but this place just isn’t worth it at all. It’s really a shame Golden Crane closed and ended up being replaced by this.
