Dont let the fact that The Yard is inside a hotel deter you from giving it a try. It’s a beautifully appointed restaurant serving “elevated Southern fare”. While the menu is fairly limited, the food is good. The service was on par. I feel like the server was fairly new, inexperienced, but friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The strawberry basil smash was good. Not the best I’ve ever had, but not bad. The deviled eggs were delicious and gorgeously plated. The gnocchi dish was just okay. A bit gummy, and definitely tasted better than it looked. Not the most visually appealing. The mocha panna cotta was very good. A bit sweet, but a nice texture and flavor. All in all, a nice meal, handy for those staying at the Elysin Hotel and open on Sundays, which many restaurants aren’t here in Birmingham. I would go again, I think.

Amazing experience, went today with a group of lady’s for a bridal shower and everything was perfect. Very elegant and exactly what I was looking. Food delicious I order the Spicy chicken biscuit sandwich (I think that’s what it’s called) and totally recommend it. Very nicely decorated plates. Will be back for our next event. Amazing service as well

Great atmosphere. That’s about all I can say. Drinks weren’t great. A group of 5 co-workers met there for drinks. Each of us had money was ADDED to our tip amount. Hotel management simply sent copies of the receipts, offering no apology or explanation as to refunding or any corrective action being taken with the bartender. Will not stay at this hotel again.

Enjoyed the food. Only complaint we had a reservation we booked almost 3 weeks out and we had to sit in this corner small table by the exit door when there were plenty of open tables throughout restaurant we could of had and this table could of been saved for a possible walk in customer.

My husband had the red snapper and he said it was delicious. I had the New York Stip with fingerlings. We both had drinks. It was $225. They were running a 5 course meal special for $100 per person. We probably should have took that route because just ordering off of the menu did not seem like an option. We stayed there and ate because we didn’t feel like going back out and it was late. Portion sizes were large. The service was great but the menu was very limited. I was a bit disappointed but the awesome breakfast the next morning made up for it! A full breakfast (bacon, conecuh sausage, cheddar grits, huge biscuit with fresh preserve and butter, two eggs and potatoes for $16 a piece on a $50 room credit. It was delicious!

We had reservations at 12:30. We arrived at 12:28 and by the time the server approached the table it was 12:40. At that time he told us the kitchen closes at 1pm so if we wanted food, we had to order at that time.

The food was good. Had a unique flair to it. For example, the fried okra is not the cut up, breaded and fried. Instead the okra was sliced and fried. It was really good. The Salmon was the best! I waited at the bar as they prepared the food. The bartender was fun, talkative and kind. Service was good and the food was better. I highly recommend eating here. Came back to different people and even nicer crew. They have Southern hospitality done right!!

This place is the pits! The menu is ridiculously limited yet somehow expensive. My wife ordered the mussels, which comes with fries for some reason. Her complaint was that it’s smelled a little too fishy, which if you eat a lot of seafood you’ll understand is not a good sign. My burger was just ok, not sure who decided arugula was a good pairing for it as far as greens go but it’s a weird combo for me. Service was somehow slow despite us being 1 of 3 parties seated. Won’t be back there again ever. Good luck.
