Rodeo Mexican Restaurant Lake Park Menu – Lake Park, GA

Type : Mexican restaurant

Location : Lake Park, GA

It all began out west in the state of California. While living in Santa Ana, Leo worked as a dishwasher for two years and cook for ten years. During his time as a cook, he worked for a barbecue restaurant and catered several times to Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch and to the Soul Train Awards. He had the chance to meet both Michael Jackson and Mike Tyson.
After several years in the Golden State, some family friends suggested that he should open his own Mexican restaurant. Leo moved around the country to find the perfect location to open his first restaurant. Finally in 2001, he decided to open the first Rodeo Mexican Restaurant in the southern city of Valdosta.

Festive eatery preparing classic Mexican dishes & a cantina serving margaritas, beer & wine. Based on 752 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.5 stars. Price $

The food was good, better than average, but not quite 5 star level. The service we got was definitely below average, and getting awfully close to poor. It was lunch time, but it was also a Thursday and the place wasn’t overwhelming crowded. The next time I’m in town I’ll probably try a different place.

I was here from out of town visiting my mom and this place was right across the street from my hotel so I gave it a try. I used the curbside service and the service I received was fast and really great! The food however is a different story. I ordered the sampler from the appetizers menu and it was horrible. It tasted like the microwave dinners you get in the grocery store and I also felt very nasceous for quite a while after only eating a few bites

I immediately regretted spending my money here. I ordered a taco Loco salad to go and it looked so disgusting and watery in the bottom I didn’t even want to eat it. I took a bite off the top and it was not good. I felt sick the next day and I think it is because of eating some of the food I got here.

We were seated quickly. Once we sat down it took more than 5 minutes to receive chips and salsa and for our waiter to get our drink order. The chips and salsa we received after she took our drink order. She was patient as we ordered our drinks and French fries for our daughter. We also ordered 2 small cheese dips that took another 5 minutes to appear. Food is average. I ordered Pollo Con Crema – there was no “creamy, white sauce”. The chicken breast taste like it had no seasoning but veggies were good. Rice and beans were decent. Cheese dip was good but very thin. Cheese quesadilla and rice was ok. Grilled cheese was ok. A.C Tex was pretty good. Service was basic. Not a whole lot of customer service but she wasn’t rude or mean. Probably won’t visit again but the food was alright. I work at a Mexican restaurant in Tifton and am skeptical to try others as I am biased!

I ordered a taco salad. I’m a very health conscious person. Rarely eat out. But when I do I choose what seems to be the healthiest options on the menu. I told them to HOLD THE SOUR CREAM AND NO SHELL!!! So basically just a bunch of lettuce, some taco meat, a little cheese and extra tomatoes. To my surprise I did not see the meat. They said it’s at the bottom. Ok! As I began to dig in, I wAs completely disgusted with my findings. A HUGE PUDDLE OF GREASE UNDER MY SALAD!! Who does that? So I poured it all out…so I thought. I noticed as I ate, hesitantly, the puddle would reappear. Then I’d drain my salad again!! By the time I had drained it the THIRD time it was no longer a salad as my lettuce was all wilted and had cold orange grease all over it. It looked like a bowl of SLOP! It was $6.99 I could’ve kept. This is a reminder why I eat at home and why eating out had me at over 300 pounds. I lost 100 pounds this year and each bite made me feel like I was gaining 1 back. Horrible, horrible experience. When you can’t even get a salad on the go!! What a shame and a disappointment.

The service is awful. I know for a fact that Isais took my credit card information and used it. He had our cards for way too long. How dumb can you be? I’ll be filing a police report on him.
