We’re Amigo Mexican Restaurant, and we’ve been a Mexican restaurant here in Johnston, IA, since 2021. We have an extensive menu with chicken, beef, steak, and seafood options, plus a lunch menu, kids menu, daily specials, vegetarian options, and more. Our owners started this business after working in other Mexican restaurants for 15 years. We’re looking forward to partnering with Urbandale, West Des Moines, and Grimes consumers to open our patio in the summer of 2022. Amigo is now our go-to for margaritas. Fast friendly service, the food is great and reasonably priced. We have visited several times over the last few months and have never been disappointed with anything. **Update** If you like margaritas, you should try the “Margarona” at least once. It’s huge!

We’ve been getting takeout here since they opened and are always pleased. The staff is friendly and kind and the food is great. They also have a huge tequila selection for dine in, and a very low key, family friendly atmosphere.
