As we were walking up to the restaurant, we were greeted outside by a gentleman asking if he could help us (very nice, very professional but unexpected). I’m assuming that we were greeted outside because this is a small establishment that doesn’t have a waiting area inside the building to wait for seating. Nonetheless, my wife and I were promptly seated in a very cozy section of the restaurant. We ordered lemon-pepper chicken wings as our appetizer, and for our entrees, we ordered shrimp & grits and pork chops (with mac and cheese and collard greens). ALL the food was seasoned to PERFECTION! We were very impressed. These folks definitely know what they’re doing. Our waitress was very attentive to everything we needed and made sure we had a good experience. We’re looking forward to going back and trying more menu items. Great place for a date night. Highly Recommended!

We planned a quick day trip on a Sunday just to visit the area and decided to eat at District 924. The service was great, the food was delicious and the restaurant overall is very welcoming to everyone. The only draw back was the wait time which was over 1 hour for our group of only 5 people. The hostess did advise us about the wait time and was super pleasant. It was worth the wait!

While in the city for an art show, friends and I wanted Soul-food. We googled and District 924 popped up. The atmosphere was comfortable. The fried chicken was “off the chart!” Other food items were delicious. My friends, and I were very pleased with the friendliness, and kindness of the staff. We most definitely will go back. 3/8/2023

Wow. This was some of the best soul/southern food I have ever eaten. My wife had the chicken and waffles and it was amazing, I had one of the best pork chops I have ever eaten, but honestly everything on the menu looked amazing. Not only was it great food, the service was great, and it was a very reasonable price for the amount of food you get. This place is now our top date night restaurant in the Winston-Salem area, great food, atmosphere, and service, all for a great price. Amazing! Thank you to all of the staff at this place!

We visited this place on 7/2/23 and all we can say is “phenomenal”. We arrived at 6:14pm. Which is significant because they close at 7pm. Honestly, I didn’t expect to recieve the greatest service because it was so close to closing time. However, we wanted some really gold soul food and were willing to take a chance. Honey, I am so glad we did! We ordered the catfish poppers for an appetizer. They were delish. Perfectly seasoned. My husband ordered the pot roast plate w/ rice& gravy and yams and loved it. I ordered the “breaded” chicken wing platter w/ collard greens and yams. It was so good! I actually finished my food. Trust me, that speaks volumes coming from me. We also had the preach cobbler which was to die for! I’m normally the one that takes pics of our food but this time my husband whipped out his camera. That’s how good this place was! We are definitely going back. We ordered an appetizer, two drinks, two entrées and dessert and paid under $80 with a very generous tip. The food service and atmosphere was on point! Money well spent!

District 924 is a hidden gem. The hostess and the staff were helpful, and cordial. I have yet to taste anything bad there. The portions are hefty and you will be taking food to go. I especially love the yams and collard greens!! The shrimp and grits, fish and grits, and the lemon pepper wings are awesome as well.

In all of my travels I’ve never been more impressed with such a small personal restaurant. My group had seven hungry construction workers, our server took all of our orders, sides, drinks and special requests and didn’t write a thing down. She remembered everything! Absolutely impressive. The food was made to order so it took longer but it was worth the wait. I highly recommend this place and I will have to go back just to get some pictures!

Went on a Sunday. Busy of course but the food was worth it. It can be a little pricey, but I really enjoyed the food and the music was great. I didn’t have a drink but they have a great selection of cocktails.

I had a pleasant experience. We were seated immediately as we were the only patrons there. We were sat upstairs. Unsure if they have seating downstairs(except for on the patio) for anyone with difficulty walking up stairs. The food was phenomenal and fresh. I do believe 924 has much more potential. The atmosphere is just lacking. There’s no vibe which is not bad but……….Anyway food was great, waitress was great.m, will definitely visit again.
