This place gets 5 star – first off – because they have VEGAN offerings! Thank you Federico’s. Second, the chick behind the counter knew her stuff. YES! And last – the food was great. We had the Vegan Enchiladas and a Vegan Taco – yum yum yum. Such a great find on that end.

Left nothing to be desired. Subpar Mexican food. Rice and beans come with the combo but it’s not actually rice. I had ordered the shrimp, steak and carnitas tacos. The carnitas really lacked flavor. The steak taco were chunky, hard to chew and overall too salty. The shrimp tacos were just okay.

Fish tacos are okay, chicken tacos were blunt and tostadas had rice and like three tiny pieces of chicken. We know Mexican food and this is not it. We do not recommend this place and specially for the prices they charge. I also got charged twice for an order and when I told the lady she tried to blame it on me, when I had asked her if she got my order and she said no. They gave me a refund but looked upset. I guess I was supposed to let them overcharge me!

We were missing Texas and so we wanted some Mexican food for lunch. They were only accepting cash so we were a bit limited on what we got but we both got something good. The chicken quesadilla was a little overcooked but my tacos were great. We really enjoyed the guacamole as well.

Food is very good, we have been here several times. However the girls taking our orders need a lesson in customer service. There were 2 behind the counter, one was getting ready to leave at the end of her shift. Neither one of them looked at us or even asked if they could take our order. We were the only people in the place. When we picked up the order it was pretty much just pushed over the counter without a word. No Aloha here!

Federicos! On point shrimp and fish tacos! Salsa was fresh and scrumptious. Service was friendly, patient and very helpful. Will definitely be returning to enjoy some other items we saw on the menu that look like a must try!

We ate here on 9/21/09. I’m going to give them 4 stars. Great Mexican food. I wasn’t expecting too much given it’s Kauai and I’m not sure how well Mexican is done in Kauai, but this place is great. The service was just fine. You order at a counter and they even bring your food to you outside while you wait for it to be made. As the area inside is very small, I think the salsa bar is pretty much in the only place it can be. We didn’t have any problems with its location and anyone who came in to order didn’t run into us or us into them as we were getting our salsas. My wife had 3 chicken rolled tacos. Very tasty. Came with guacamole and the usual garnishes. I had the Tacos al Pastor 2 taco combo plate. Pork in a spicy red marinade and prepared with tomatoes, pineapple (natch), onion, cilantro. Served with their signature boiled beans and a good spanish rice. All in all a good experience. The only disappointment came when my wife was ordering. She wanted to have the potato and chorizo rolled tacos and they were already out of the potato and chorizo filling and it was only just after 6pm. But the chicken was quite good, so she was happy in the end.
