This place is awesome. I’d give it 10 stars if I could. We went early on a Saturday night and sat on the outdoor patio with our dog. Service was friendly and attentive, and we really enjoyed the ambiance – totally different than any other restaurant in Detroit. We started with the cheese bread & meatballs which were both fantastic – super flavorful. For our mains we shared the chicken parmesan & the cheese ravioli with palomino sauce & pork. We couldn’t finish everything, but we can’t wait to have our leftovers for lunch tomorrow! We will DEFINITELY return. Truly a hidden gem – just go, you won’t be disappointed!

Excellent Restaurant. Very intimate setting and high end Italian food – the best Italian food in Michigan. The service was a bit slow but the food is the real charmer. It doesn’t leave you feeling heavy like many other restaurants. The ingredients are fine, clean, and high end. It’s a tasted in this meal.

I fell for the heartfelt reviews with this one. That and the promise of outstanding Ameritalian food. But while the service was great and the ambiance filled with warm hole-in-the-wall charm – the food was mediocre. Sauces were bland, chicken was dry, gnocchi tasted like it was from a package. For $25 a plate, it’s reasonable to expect fresh ingredients at least.

I had delivery. Meatballs were so yummy but spaghetti wasn’t made with spaghetti noodles. Garlic bread was not very garlicky as it was barely buttered. Cannoli was excellent. For the price I expected more pasta. Sorry I started eating before I took the pictures.

Found this place on open table. Reservations have to be made but it is a small place, actually it is a house that took the Uber driver a min to find. It’s a hidden gem! The food is excellent authentic Italian food, the atmosphere is very friendly & homie style & the wine had a rich divine flavour. Mr. G loves to talk about how he started his restaurant and his staff Billie and Olivia were excellent servers. They could all answer questions about each dish. Definitely try the meatballs but you won’t be disappointed by any dish.

Extremely well thought idea with traditional respect. Our server Anthony was phenomenal and accommodating to our group of 10 people, kids included. He recommended a family style idea and we practically ordered a taste of everything and passed around family style. Although they have incredible individual portions on their menu, Anthony was able to catch our vibe and make the dinner service impeccable for my Dad’s Birthday celebration. We are Detroiters and this place hits the mark on old school Italian American cuisine. Worth multiple visits!

Casual atmosphere with great traditional Italian plates. Loved the sausage and pull pork with spaghetti!

I hate using the expression “hole in the wall” but this is the very definition. You could completely pass this place and not know what you are missing! There are no frills, nothing fancy about this place. Thank god they don’t even have the stereotypical decor of an Italian restaurant. Just family photos and good food! You really feel like you just went to visit a friend’s house and their mom decided to keep you for dinner and trust me you will not be disappointed! Try their meatballs as that is where Mumma Maria’s got their start! Absolutely a must visit! Reservations are required and can be found on Open Table.

One of the best dining experiences I have ever had! My friend brought me here for my birthday and not only was the food absolutely incredible, they brought us inside after it closed for shots and then sent us away with cake. I really felt like I was eating with family friends, the kindness and atmosphere was unparalleled. Thank you Billy and Ethan!

Best experience we’ve had in ages. We called to get in at the last minute and soooo excited we did. The meal was like being back in Europe and being presented with the most amazing food at quantity. Salad, cheese bread and meatballs found their way immediately on the table…and these meatballs will change your life. You will write poetry about them. You will dream about them. You may leave your husband for these meatballs.
